I am starting to get excited about cooking dinner at my house this year as well!  This will be the second time in my life I got to cook for Thanksgiving and not sent to someone's house... (One year we even did Lonestar - the first year I was away from "home")

I can't wait for turkey!  It may be all I eat that day since I LOVE real turkey and only get it at the holidays - and we all know I can only do so much, so I may as well do what I love!

5pm? That doesn't allow much time to take a nap and go for round 2 before bed and work the next day!!! lol  j/k

no i guess not but then it also means that we have nosh out most of the day and i do not have to awaken at the crack of o dark 30 to put the 20 pound bird in the oven  (and the ham on the grill)...

i was raised eating late....  mom liked her nosh and we have the tradional relish tray with pickles and olives  veggies and dip  cheese and salami and pepperoni...

 dinner is simple
turkey
ham
mashed potatoes
sweet potato cassarole
cranberry  relish (with crushed pineapple and manderian oranges)
rolls w/butter
green bean cassarole
steamed carrots

then desserts:

pumpkin roll (with splenda)
sin (mock faux cheesecake made with cresent rolls and cream cheese by my MIL for the kids and with splenda)
apple pie
pumpkin pie
pecan pie
apple crisp  (whole grains, smart balance and splenda w/brown sugar)

and this year I'm going to try some pumpkin parfait that I found in a wls cookbook...
