like i said before, you should call your surgeon's office and get a name. they usually have a couple they use on a regular basis. what hospital is it?

I had to pay out of pocket for my psych eval - $225.  I have BCBS as well, but its through Empire.  My psych said that 9 times out of 10 the psych eval isn't covered by insurance.

I'm excited for you - I had to do a six month weight loss plan with my doc (my only insurance requirement other than the psych eval).  I finish up on the 19th though, and then its (hopefully) Approval  City!

Congratulations, the insurance part sounds easy..  Don't be surprised if your surgeon requires further tests prior to surgery.  If you tell us which surgeon you plan on using, someone who has had that person can tell you what to expect.  If not, best of wishes.

Hi All~

I finally found and clinical psycologist to do the eval. Its gonna cost me $120 out of pocket, but I don't mind, it'll be well worth it.

I know that I will have some other testing, in terms of blood work and stuff like that before the surgery and a diet, and I'm ready for all that stuff. I was told that it would cost $350 after I'm approved to do all that stuff. I'm having Dr. Paul Lin at GW do my surgery. If anyone has had him please let me know of your experience. I like him so far.

Really? You have to pay. I only paid a $15 dollar co pay for my pysch visit. You have Federal BCBS so it pays it all but the copay unless you go with someone out of their network. Either way it is so worth it. Good luck sweetie. (((Hugs)))
