Share Your Favorite WOW Moment
We have had quite a few surgiversaries here the last few days and it got me thinking. For me, at a year post-op the wow moments still come but not as often as they did freshly post op. I was thinking we could post our favorite wow moments so far throughout this journey. I am sure it would be an inspiration and motivation to many!!! Whether your wow moment is small or huge, post it here!!
Ok so mine is finally being able to jump on the trampoline with my daughter. Last summer she asked me to jump with her and I couldnt because I alone exceeded the weight maximum. Now this year when she asked, I proudly climed my shrinking hiney up there and jumped and jumped with my daughter to her delight. I dont think I have ever seen my daughter so excited. She was used to a Mommy that kinda of 'sat on the sidelines', and I was ready to be that Mom NO MORE!! No I run and jump and play with her, just like I am a kid again!!
Great idea, April!
The final catalyst for me having surgery was the fact that I could not fit on the rides at OC with KB. I promised them (and myself), that I would the following year.
I did it the following summer and sat screaming from one of the rides, "I did it!! I fit!! I fit!!" to my brother, who actually stood there with tears in his eyes because he knew how much it meant to me!!!

Yes Tia!!! I love this one! I knew I would never fit on rides with Jordan as she got older and we went to amusement parks and I was so embarrased! This year I took her to Six Flags and got on EVERY ride I could with her, just to prove I could. Sadly, at one point there was a lady that had to get off the ride because she could not fit and ride with her daughter. As I sat there and rode with Jordan, I was in tears because I knew that a year ago that person would have been me!!
at 340 lbs, i could not clean my bathroom in one sitting. i would be utterly exhausted after cleaning the tub/shower. now i can clean the whole bathroom and do more stuff. sure, i take a nap but that is so much better! I can't even imagine now not being able to clean my bathroom but that is the life i lead. oh and i can jog nonstop for 5 minutes. that was unheard of!
Ohhhhhhhhhhh Candy I cant wait to get under 200 I am only 3 lbs away!!! Congrats I think that is a MOST awesome wow moment!!
Isnt it funny how the roller coasters are such a huge thing to us as overweight people? No one except other people that were/are overweight understand what a huge deal for us! Yay for riding roller coasters! :-)

So many Wow moments! I think one of the biggest was when I finally weighed less than my husband, I'd always been heavier than my Significant Others! Also, each time I was able to give up a med! And last week I saw some co-workers that I hadn't seen in about a year. They said that they were sitting there trying to figure out who this lady was that was talking to them like she knew them! LOL! That was pretty awesome!
