My First Sorta Scare....

Well yesterday my stomach got increasingly tender throughout the day.  By the evening I started to gently feel to the touch and I found a very hard lump underneath one of my incisions that very much was sore and sensitive to the touch.  The tenderness was felt anytime I layed down, sat up or moved while I was laying down.

I called the emergency # last night and the PA called back and basically he had never heard of my symptom.  I hoping it's just some sensitive scar tissue and nothing else. I totally freaked at first and was like OMG am I feeling part of my band because it was so hard...yikes!

So now I am on my way in rush hour traffic to VA to have them look at it since nothing changed over night and the lump did not decrease in size or sensitivity.

Breathing here and not trying to get too excited/worried.  Will post when I return to give the update.

Ugh!  Hang in there, Nikki!  I had the same sort of thing happen after my open gallbladder surgery - turns out mine WAS just hypersensitive scar tissue.

Please make sure you update us as soon as you're able.

Hugs,

Tia

Well, you did the right thing in calling the doc and for going in this morning.  I hope it turns out to be nothing serious!

Looking forward to hearing the outcome!

Thanks all for the well wishes!  I wasn't nervous.  I was feeling good this am so hoping it was nothing to get too bent out of shape about.

It IS scar tissue but hurts like a mother.  It's 18mm x 13mm...that seems big to me and no wonder I was feeling this knot.

They want me to just keep an eye on it and look at for redness of anykind (infection).  He was not concerend and said he expected it to go down probably in less than a week!

So even though it was "something" it was not alarming.

Now I am work just getting on with my days!

((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))) for you all!

Glad that's all it was.  Yes, it can hurt, and sometimes, I would get bad, cramp-like pains, too - very strange.

Just keep an eye on it like he said!

Hugs,

T
