Kelly,

thank you for posting this. I have been in a training all day otherwise I would have said something sooner. I feel that sometimes a select few ruin it for the rest of us. I have decided that I will not allow that to happen. There are too many good people here that need support and are willing to offer it to me without negativity.

I hope that people continue to come here and get what they need from this site. I will continue to come here so that I can meet people like you and alot of the other lovely ladies I had the pleasure of meeting last night at your meeting.

Thanks again!

no it actually went really smoothly. I just contacted my local ymca and may have found a home for my group. I may have to make it on the weekend though. do you think people will come out during the weekend? it may not be free but maybe they will charge less than the library if i promote them. keep your fingers crossed. I just sent the lady an email w/ the obesityhelp info. I really wanna find a home!

Nicole I would be much more able to attend a weeekend daytime meeting than a midweek evening meeting.  but then I tend to be the exception to the rule dontcha know.

Kelly thank you for posting this.   I would be delighted to both give and receive support  as a recent Post-OP I need all the help I can get.

I'm sorry I miss the Crofton meetings but it's a bit of a drive from Owings Mills.

I am a little late at replying to this thread but would like to come forward as a newbie! I've only been on the boards for about 2 months and i'll be a month post op this week.

So far I have had very positive interactions and experiences with people on this forum. At times when I was feeling uncertain or negative, someone always chimed in with some encouraging words.  I don't always get to respond to everyone indivudally but really look forward to when I post something, the answers and comments I will get in return!

I don't know anyone here personally - as in face to face but I do hope to get that opportunity at some point.  Nonetheless my online support has been the most I've had and the most I think I will have and I am fortunate that I am not going at this entirely alone!

I realize that all of our journey's are different but collectively we are all here for the same reason. I would hope no one is PM-ing about me as such but hey all I would say is i'm here to learn new things and put in my 2 cents where I can even as a newbie.  You gotta start somewhere and get your foot in the door! And truth be told...I'm kind of an assertive girl!

I do welcome any advice and suggestion  and feedback from any member whether it be a genuine reply or something I may not want to hear!  I've been living by the motto "I DO ME and YOU DO YOU"!  I've come to realize so many people out there think that what they do is the only way to do it and well that may be the only way for them but I'm sure as heck going to make my own choices in the end.

Just like with any group there are always people who won't get along. But focusing on the main reasons we post, read and reply, the SUPPORT should definitely come first.

Thank you all for making my experiences positive thus far and I hope to keep it that way

Thank you Kelly for the kind supportive words. I do enjoy the Crofton meetings and am learning more and more each time. I love seeing new faces and being able to talk face to face. I am learning that each of our journeys though similiar are oh so different. I will be supportive and encouraging to anyone as I know we all need support and kind words.
