Not to eat,, but to play with.

EVERYBODY get your minds out of the gutter.

Canon finally released the new,, 7D
www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller,

I have been a Canon shooter for years, AE-1, EOS650, Digital Rebel 300, now the 7D. This thing is amazing, shoots High def video, 8 frames per second, Dual processors. I got a 'kit" which came with a 18-135mm lens, lens hood, UV filter and an extra battery. I traded my Rebel, EOS650, and an old flash unit, and gave them my old bag and told them to give the bag to some kid taking photographry classes.

This is my "way to go gift" to myself, holding steady at 254 for a while.

That is a great gift that will keep on giving for many years to come. Photographs are priceless and one can never take to many. Congrats on the weight loss and enjoy your gift... That was a nice gesture to give your bag so another may use it...

Thanks Cira,

I have figured out that I hit these barriers for about a week,,, then the loss continues, so I'm not worried. (wasn't it Alfred E Newman that said "What me worry?")

LOL Why yes he is!!! I am glad you are not worried. The weight will melt off in no time.

By the way I always wanted a digital slr camera but I opted for the Canon G9 it is a wonderful camera I just still don't know how to use all the settings.  I never have time to really play with it. Gino got for me as a  Christmas gift 2 years ago.

Tom - your Wednesday schedule for shrink?  Is that the only day you lose weight?

You're a busy fella!  We, as always, are proud of ya!

Well I was eyeing up a 5D MarkII, but this has faster shooting, (8 frames per  second, vs 3 for the 5D) and it was $1,000 cheaper.  Also, the APS-C sensor makes a lens greater magnification than a full size sensor, ( my 100 - 300 zoom looks like a 150 - 450 to the 7D)  if I get the 50mm - 500mm I am looking at,, I can really reach out there (750mm, we are talking almost telescope here) and 99.9% of my shooting is high light outdoors, so the advantage the full size sensor gives to low light doesn't matter to me. The 7D came along at the perfect time. The 7D is also the mos****er and dust resistant of all the Canon SLRs, so all and all it is the best of all options for my type of shooting. This is MY dream camera, I don't want the 5D, or even the $7000 1Ds. (Not like I could afford a $7k camera anyway)

Like I said before, I have been shooting with Canon products for ~25 years, EOS for almost 20, Digital EOS for 8 years, and this camera still has me lost with all it can do. Guess I will have to play with it a whole lot.
