Hi everyone, this is such a great website.  I am new here and am trying to find a few surgeons to talk to for an inital consult or attend a seminar.  I have read some of the reviews on the site and it is overwhelming!  I am in Montgomery County and work in DC.  I have heard of Dr. Afram and Dr. Greene, any other recommendations?  Thanks in advance for your help, I'm so thankful I found this site!

I live in Laurel (the Howard County part by 95) and I go to St. Agnes which is just barely inside the Baltimore beltway. I see Dr. Von Rueden and he and his staff are really good. his website is www.marylandweightmanagement.com

Hope that helps!

I am very very biased towards my surgeon :-) But, I would suggest attending a few seminars,s pecially if you ahven't decided what kind of surgery to get. I attended 2 and the first one was horrible and the second one is my surgeon - Dr. Roe (baltimorebariatrics.com).

So, you have 3 decisions really:
- type of surgery
- surgeon
- hospital

The last 2 could be considered 1 but what the hey :) I like makign lists.

Good luck with your journey and decision.

And my surgeon has an office in Maple Lawn or Fulton or wherever you want to call it - it's near Route 32 / Route 29 /BW Parkway area.

His name is Dr. Kuldeep Singh.  He operates out of St. Agnes along with Dr. Averbach and Dr. Von Ruden although their practices are separate.

My surgeon is Dr. Gandsas w/Sinai hospital, it would be a bit of a drive for you though but their after care program and their nutritionist is top of the line.  They have been nothing but organized since I began the process.  I hightly recommend their program if you're willing to make that drive...  Good luck with whatever decision you make!

Dr. Andrew Averba*****atonsville, Maryland (Baltimore).  He practices out of St. Agnes which is a Center of Excellence for Bariatric Surgeons.  Good luck!
