I Took The Easy Way Out! hmmm

So if any of you remember back a little while ago when I posted about the office ***** who made me do the chinese food thing for everyone while I was on liquid and said she didn't give a F who was on a diet....well her evil self still lingers!

I was told by a colleage of mine today that she hasn't said much about me or my surgery inparticular since I was out recovering, however the few brief conversations that they had together, she pretty much in a round about way (or gave the impression) that I took the easy way out by having surgery!

Well I won't be the first or the last person on this forum or who has had WLS that recieves this comment or kind of reaction but nonetheless, I am pi$$ed off.

Everytime I hear another negative thing about this woman I can't stand her even more.  Keep in mind we used to be very friendly with each other.  We have worked together for 9 years. I've seen her go from jeckyl to hyde and then back to jeckyl....not to say that I haven't had my ups and downs in that time period too but nothing directed toward her personally and her life decisions.

She is the biggest damn hypcrite in the world and unless she does something and she has a high opinion of, in her eyes it's ****  Just the site of her some days make my life a living hell at work.  Like she is fake or something to me...nice to my face and when she wants something but otherwise would stab me in the back in second!

She has never asked me 1 question about surgery itself or anything since I've come back to work. But she will be the FIRST one that analyzed every morsel I put in my mouth from staff lunches to holiday parties to whatever.

I wish I could put a print out on her desk explaining 100 bullet points as to why and how weight loss surgery is FAR FROM EASY! and then for it to include the details about how no surgery is a miracle cure for obesity and that I still have to do my part for 1. and 2. it's unrealistic to think that just because someone has had WLS that they will never eat a piece of birthday cake, a slice of pizza, or some goodies laying around the kitchen during the holidays.

I wish I would not have had to tell her but unfortunately she is our most knowledgable and professional ONLY  HR person.  (a little sarcasm here)!

Not that I haven't learned to "deal" with her over the years, it's just there comes a time when you've kind of just had it with someone and enough is enough.

If the right cards are in my future perhaps as the economy betters, a new opportunity for employment will come my way in '10. Then I will be taking the easy way out...out the door that is!!!

Nikki - This is exactly why I chose not to tell people I had WLS, because I didn't want the scrutiny of others.  Surgery was my personal business and I didn't and don't need to know their opinion on it and my doing it.

Sorry you are having to go through this.  Chin up!!

What a BEEEEEOTCHHH!  Seriously.  I hate when people pass judgement on someone when they don't really know.  I just found out that someone who's supposed to be my "best friend" has been telling people I cheated and took the easy way out.  It sucks.  People suck.  I'm sorry you have to work in that environment.

I am sorry you are dealing with this crazy thing again. She is selfish and doesn't care about anyone but herself. This WLS thing is no easy way out. It is a tool and must be used everyday. I can't believe that she won't stop. I think she is very shallow and should mind her own damn business. You made your choice and that is all that matters. Maybe she is jealous of you did you ever think of that? I would tell her to F off. I have worked with many people like her and I pray that you get another job away from her. I also know that it takes all kinds to make up this world and no matter where you go to work you will have 1 big idiot who is a back stabber.. Hold your head up and be proud....

Girl, you just do your thing! I have haters at work too, but I'm not even giving them a second thought. We know what were doing and why we did it and that's all that matters. Plus, it helps to think about flaunting my skinny azz past all the haters in a few months!

Hi Niki,

She's scared.  Plain and freaking simple she's scared of you.  She knows what's gonna happen with that lap-band you've had placed in your tummy sweetie.

From what i can see and everybody else that gets a look at your pic. you are one gorgeous mama.  Since you've decided that you are ready for this serious weight loss journey, you are going to be even hotter once that band begins to take off and the pounds start melting away.

Don't worry about what people say or what they think. You have to live your life for you and noone else.  Oh yeah, she's hating the fact that you were courageous enough to attack your weight issues and go for the gold.

Haters love company just like misery and if she can make you miserable and push your buttons -- well, HELLO!

Kill em with kindness - that's the only way to defeat jealous, miserable, ugly, wanna be dream killing persons like her.

Oh, and please don't leave the job until you've reached goal. Snap a pic of the look on her face then and take it wit ya.    Better yet, post it on the bulletin board signed here lies one sick hater!

Nikki -

Everyone's given you great advice!!  However, as your most "knowledgeable" HR person, I'm SURE she's aware of HIPAA regulations.  And that if she's talking about your personal medical issues, she's violating those regulations and YOUR rights.

Perhaps she needs a reminder, hmmmm?

Hang in there!

Hugs,

Tia

Thanks all for the support.  Had to get it off my chest and leave it behind.  That's the kind of crap that happens in small offices and no sarcasm this time - she is quite unprofessional and always has been but there is a history with her and the company owner so.....she is safe!

I'm sure there will be more to come.  Actually I am hoping and praying she orders chinese food today because if she does, I am getting teriyaki chicken on a stick and putting it my little food processor.  That will giver her something to look at! HA!

She is a piece of work!
