So sorry to hear this Lori...I know that this surgery is the whole reason I'm clinging to my own job right now...I just keep telling myself "need the health insurance..."

Not knowing what type of insurance you have, if it is a high deductible plan then you are eligible to open a HRA or HSA.  This allows you to save to pay for medical expenses and the money that you contribute is pre-tax.
