Maryland Forum Meet & Greet/ Get Togethers

I know many of you already know each other personally but I was wondering if from time to time anyone organizes an event for newbies to just come out and say hello to everyone.

I used to run a social group for plus size women for 5 years and was meeting new people all the time. So many of my members moved out of the area so the group just dwindle after so many years but we used to do things like go clubbing (when I was 20 something), go to a pool hall and some would play others would just talk, go to dinner, potluck etc etc.

I don't really know much in the Baltimore area with the exception of the Harbor of course. But if someone were to step up to the plate and plan a get together I would make all effort to make the trip. Maybe a special event on the Harbor or something? (trying to stay away from social activities involving food, sigh) It would be nice to actually meet some and put a personality to a post!

I'll keep my eyes open!

We do have get togethers all the time, a lot of which involve meals, but they ALL involve us sitting around or walking and getting to know each other.

HOWEVER, I am hanging up my, "Julie, your Cruise Director" hat for a while.

Somebody else needs to plan something!! And I, too, will make every attempt to be there.

Nikki Tia has been a great planner even though I have not made an event yet. I would love to meet the people I chat with. I live in the Annapolis area and have ventured out to White Marsh in Baltimore. I have meet one person who lives in Baltimore. I have gone to White Marsh to see her and she has came to Glen Burnie for dinner. I would love if we could plan something for Annapolis or Glen Burnie. After camping I plan on trying to go to an event if there are any planned.

Count me in if you have something in Annapolis or Glen Burnie. I live in Annapolis and go seminars at Balt & Wash Hospital sponsored by my doctor and staff. I would to met new people in the area.

Hi Robin, Even if we do not do a big get together I could always meet you for coffee or lunch one day. Just let me know. I hope we can do something there for all one day. I also will tell you that Crofton has support groups that meet at Crofton Library if you ever want to go I will let you know the meeting dates. I think the next one is October 5Th 6:00pm to 7:30 pm. It seems to be a nice group and I have learned so much there..

It's been awhile since I have been to Annapolis. Again it's a bit of a drive but hey that's where the seafood is. Shortly I will be able to eat some crab cakes so I'm down for a waterfront event if you are up for organizing. I'll help recruit people to go :)
