liquid diet time
My suggestion is to keep your eye on the prize. I also had to do a 2 week liquid diet pre-op and it was hard! But I knew that was the LAST time I was ever going to feel hunger like that again.
I kept myself busy and the two weeks went by very quickly, good luck!
Also make sure you have some s/f popsicles, they really helped me when I was doing the liquid diet pre-op.

How is your liquid diet mapped out honey? Mine was I was allowed one meal a day so I would make that meal DINNER every night. But most of my friends utilized their meal as breakfast then the other two were the shakes. You will do GREAT!!! All the best to you. Cream of Wheat and No Sugar Added Fudgesicles became my BEST FRIENDS! LOL
I'm a little over half way through my two week liquid diet. I've found that I need the drinks really cold and prefer them without ice. I have two shaker bottles and I mix each of them with two servings the night before. Then when I finish one I can mix another serving and put it back so it will be cold later.
We tried the Body Fortress strawberry and didn't like it. I think if you could doctor it a bit it could be okay, but I can't so its just sitting in my cabinet. (when I say we its my husband who isn't having surgery and me) GNC's 100% Whey Chocolate is the one we have stuck with for the longest. I started mixing it with 8 oz of water and now I use 6. I'm just now starting to get tired of it, but it doesn't make me sick or anything. We did try the same brand cookies n' cream and didn't like it. I also got some of those protein shots from Walmart, they aren't too pricey there. I mix them in with water and/or crystal light. I can just down them too. They aren't good but again not terrible for me.
I was told that I could mix the unflavored stuff in with anything liquid that still meets my requirements. So beef or chicken broth would be okay. I think it would be worth a try.
I got some cans to take with me when I go out. Then I can just get a cup of ice and have it whenever. I've gone out twice to eat and just order a glass of water and a cup of ice.
I think if you can think about the big picture, that its just food and you will be able to have food again. Good luck!

Hi Brian, and congrats!
I went through 4 weeks of liquids (two preop and two post op) - and I posted it in my profile for others to read.
I occasionally have to go through 2 days of liquids whenever I have an adjustment, so I've always been on the lookout for new things. The broth aisle in the Walmart has been sporting some gourmet flavor broths lately. I really enjoyed the one I had during my pre op stage - it was a prime rib tasting broth and I am a die hard fan of the cheddar cheese soup - it is really really good for me.
As for the cream of's that have some particles in it, I heated it as if I would eat it like that, but then I strain it of the particles and it winds up being very yummy. I made the mistake of once straining the stuff out of the oyster stew before warming it up - it was like I drank sal****er and milk. Never again! LOL
I am a huge fan of the EAS Advantedge Carb Control RTD protein shakes - they are very convenient and chocolately for me. :)
Lots of luck on your pre-op - you can do it! :)
