About how long does it normally take to hear from insurance? DVR sent my stuff in for approval a while ago...I think this is the 4th week since they sent it in. Should I call the insurance company? Or DVR? Or just do nothing and hang tight? Any thoughts?

I would wait a little longer, it's summer, people are on vacation. The holiday also slows things down. I would wait until mid week, next week and then call, but you have got to do what makes you feel comfortable. I also think that I would all the Insurance Co first. This is just one gals opinion. Good Luck, Leslie:)

I had DVR and I actually got the call from the hospital asking me questions about after my surgery before I even hear from DVR's office. You could go ahead and try to call them. They just might be very busy. After all....they are not the ones waiting for results.

I would call the insurance company:  4 weeks is long enough for them to tell you something;
Like I was told   You have to keep on the Dr's offices and insurance company -  sometimes
its a little thing like one test result or missing piece of paper that holds things up.

I would definitely call the insurance company to see what's the hold up. Like Darla said sometimes it is something minor holding things up and if you get to the bottom of it you will get things moving.  Also call Rose she will get on it.  She is usually really good about that.

Good luck and I hope you get your approval soon.

Post and let us know.

I agree with both Darla and Cira.  Call!!  It took me two weeks of calling between the Insurance Company and the Drs. Office until the insurance company had everything they needed to make a decision.  After that it didn't take all that long but I believe most, if not all, insurance companies have 30 days to make a decision.

So I just called DVR's office. Rose said that she actually just called the insurance company yesterday and it's still pending. She said that she's going to call the specific person who's working on my claim either tonight or tomorrow so I should find out soon. Wish me luck! :)
