Exploring Shakes - New One For Me!
Since most of you know by now I am on the never-ending liquid diet over here. I made another trip back to vitamin shoppe today. I am becoming friends with the manager
So since I have found that I can't get down any of the juice-type protein drinks like Isopure, Cytomax, Protein Blitz or the New Whey Shots I decided I need to start figuring out some shake options as I am tired of Chocolate, Vanilla and Strawberry!
I went on a MISSION to find this peanut butter one by MET-RX. What I wouldn't do for some peanut butter right about now. And of course, they didn't have it in stock. I then proceeded to see if they had the banana flavored Pure Protein which I found on their website. Again NO LUCK!
So my new friend led me over to "Lean Body" which they had a banana cream. I was excited but skeptical due to my failed purchases the other day. He recommended a few others too that I decided to try.
When I came home I went for the Banana. The shakes are large so they can be cut in half. So as I was pouring out half in a measuring cup, this stuff looked like egg beater in the cup
I sipped it and it was very thick. YUCK! So I decided to mix the 8.5oz of shake with 4oz of Hood Milk. NOT BAD! Had a slight banana flavor to it. It put it over ice so it went down well.
153 Calories, 3 Net Carbs, 24 Protein for approx 12oz.
I think next time I will attempt chocolate banana - 1/2 Lean Body Banana Cream and 1/2 EAS Chocolate Fudge.
Just wanted to share. Lean Body is not a brand I've heard about ever until now so it's worth putting it out there for others.
6 days of liquids down 8 more days and counting until surgery!

Have you tried MAX Protein? SEI makes it. But their strawberry flavored shakes are the ONLY protein shakes I have been able to drink and keep down.

This is something I can't understand. And maybe you guys can explain it to me.
Protein shakes are meal replacements. And I'm betting that before surgery, a "meal" for every one of us cost MUCH more than $1.33--which is what a $40 tub of protein comes to, per shake. Even adding non-fat milk at $.03/ounce brings that to $2.05 per 8 ounce shake.
Where's the "expensiveness?"

I love ya Ana! You think just like I do!
Just the other day, it was Saturday - I stopped in at the China Bowl on my lunch break from JCPenneys - and bought the Chicken Mushroom without rice. The food was 4.99.
It came in a little styrofoam container that was like a good size for a hamburger only.
It lasted me 3 meals, because I'd start getting the hiccups and the sniffles. So, my meal was $1.67 each! LOL That's a big difference from a one time supersized McDonalds meal that would cost me over $6 in one sitting.
Definitely loving my band!!!!

Candy I wish my McDonals only cost me 6 bucks! Lord it was more like 6 bucks for breakfast and I am embarrased to say how much if I ate dinner there. McD's was the place I would let out all my stress and indulge. 2 nights before my liquids low and behold I was in the drive through and got sick amounts of food TO GO!
I just don't drive by there anymore!
Can't wait until I can have a cheeseburger and a few fries and be FULL!

I stay away from the fries as much as possible. The McDonald's fries and Boardwalk fries are my extreme weakness. I do order an Angus burger from time to time, probably once a week because it'll last me two meals. And I have the protein from the meat and the swiss cheese. :) I can't handle the bread, it makes me feel like I have to go talk to Ralph, so I peel the bread off and go from there.
If I'm on the run - like on the way to my 2nd job (which ends this Friday) or on the way to class, I will stop through there and get a 4 pack of nuggets. That's a meal for me. I can't eat any more than those 4 nuggets. I love being a cheap date LOL
