We just said goodbye and good luck to our part time receptionist.  He was leaving us to go to college.   There may be something there at www.menv.com.

What kind of work do you do? That will help us know what to look out for.

Debbie, do you mean what kind of company my company is?  I'm not planning on leaving my job anytime soon, but if anyone is curious, I'm a procurement administrative officer.  My agency, Maryland Environmental Service, is a quasi-state agency (and yes, we're getting furloughed) - and we do a lot of environmental things, like landfill/water and wastewater treatment plant maintenance, operations, and from time to time, we rehab the plants and close landfill cells, building new ones, etc.  We used to do the scrap tire stockpile cleanups, but the gov cut the tire fund, so I am not anticipating any more of those cleanups.  We also monitor water, waste water, and build/maintain dredged material facilities.  You can always read up on what we do at www.menv.com.

the receptionist that left, he handled forwarding calls, incoming packages for bids, and some minor clerical work.

Debbie right now Im a medical transcriptionist. Ive worked in the medical field all of my life and have done receptionist work as well as back office work. I think im going to try and find something at the local hospital here. I work from home right now, but I think that's not going to happen anymore.
