1 goal down... I can get used to this!

Well, it's been a while since I've been around here... been dealing with step number 1 in my process which was also goal number 1.  Had to go through alot of OB-GYN stuff with PCOS and surgeries and medication.  Now I'm back on the ball with WLS!  I've gotten reccommended for WLS by my GYN because of the PCOS and she referred me to a new Primary Dr. who is pro-WLS.  (She's even had the surgery herself)  GYN said that she's consulted with the primary, and they are going to work together to expidite my surgery.  So now it's time to start thinking about which surgery is best for me, and finding a surgeon.  I'm so excited, but a little nervous at the same time.  I just wanted to share my excitement with folks who understand!  Hope everyone is doing well!

That's awesome, Jessica!  Sounds like you're doing well!  It's exciting to watch newbies start their process, so if there's anything we can do, give a yell!

Hugs,

Tia

Thanks ladies!!  I appreciate it!  I've learned that the biggest tool in this process is having a great support system.  I know I'm a newbie, but there's no better support than those who've been there and done it!   I think I want to make a list of all the things I can't wait to do once I start losing, things I can't and don't want to do now.  :)  I can't wait to be on the other side!

Glad to see you are making progress. They thought I had the PCOS and then an DOc told me I have stress obesity syndrome. I don't know what to believe. I have just gone through some tests myself and am glad to say all is ok..

My PCOS has gone undiagnosed since my teens.  It unfortunately took over my body,  and now my hormones are so out of wack, I've had to go through hormone therapy.  The WLS is going to help jumpstart my system again along with therapy and proper medication so the docs say, and that way I can finally be healthy and eventually make babies.  :)

On another note... I just want to remind everyone to make sure you know what your supposed to be taking when the doctor sends you to the Pharmacy with a prescription.  My Dr. wanted me to be taking a certain birth control for the past 4 months, and during my appt. Friday we realized that the Pharmacy had given me the wrong medication.  Similar name, so I thought I just misunderstood the way she said it nope...... 2 totally different medications.  BE CAREFUL and PAY ATTENTION!!!

Thanks for the reminder about the meds. I try not to take any if I don't have to. They all have side effects and I hate that. Good luck on the wls. I have not had surgery yet as so many things have been going on in my life. One day I hope to put me 1st and let others fend for themselves.

Congrats on Step 1!  I'm still pre-op myself...I have two more months of diet to go, but I'm just as excited about the surgery today as I was four months ago when I found my surgeon!

Good luck on your journey!
