What does it feel like when your LapBand slips? Anybody?
I wouldn't know but I hope you get to feeling better. Call a doctor also post on the lapband forum you might get some quick answers there.
I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.
Those that mind don't matter, and those that matter don't mind.

Hi there! Well, I would say that my pain felt like a gall bladder attack. Tight pain that wrapped around my diaphram through to my back. I couldn't eat and had reflux at night. The only way to find out if you slipped is an upper GI. Call your doc if you haven't already. Did you vomit before this started? Do you keep your band tight? I'm a member of the BandGrads board. If you aren't already a member I can put a suggestion for you to be invited in (it's by invite only). btw, the only way to fix a MAJOR slip is surgery (like I had to have), but if it's minor (unlikely minor if you have pain) they can do a complete unfill for a month. If you aren't already doing liquids...START!
Thank you Heather. Good information. I sure did throw up before but that's because I had a little situation and had eatten too fast and too much before I had to go to my kids "find your seat night". I messed up but I thought maybe the throwing up had done something. I don't know.
I guess I'll have to call teh doctor. It seems to be going away very slowly so I don't think it's a slip, but I do worry about that. I was able to eat today, just a little bit so I'm assuming it's not major. I'll call my regular doctor. I don't have a LapBand doctor here in MD.
Thanks for the info. Sorry you had to go through that. It sounds horrible.

Well throwing up definitely can cause a slip and every time something gets stuck and we HAVE to throw up (believe me there were times I waited for up to TWO hours before I tried to barf up stuck food) we run a chance of slipping. Actually, for me, not anymore since I'm sleeved now, but I know how scary it can be. Is the pain gone now? If you need a band doc, I hightly recommend Dr. Schweitzer at Hopkins.
