some sad news here this morning

My ex dil just called to tell me that my granddaughter's dog wa**** by a car and died last night. They saw it happen as he was running across the road to where they were and they yelled for him to stop but he didn't.

I am glad that I cancelled this weekend at the beach. They are coming up tomorrow and I told them we would draw pictures of Bailey and that we would talk about all the good memories we have of him.

Emily, the oldest, said "he is in heaven with Rocky now". Rocky was our dog that died in 2006.

God...it is so hard to see those little girls with broken hearts. I do hope they get another dog very soon.

OH NO!! How horribly sad.  They will definitely need some extra Grandma love.  Such sad news when a family pet passes, especially unexpectedly.

~hugs~

Oh, Gail, how horrible!!!  And for them to see that, too!!!

My heart is breaking for them!  That's a wonderful idea for you to draw pictures and talk about him - I'm not into scrapbooking, but they could make a Bailey scrapbook.  Hallmark already has their Christmas ornaments out, and there's a dog one with space for a picture - might make a good "now" present for them, too.

I know you feel helpless, so hug them extra tight!!!

Tia

Tia...that is a great idea! I will tell Stephanie to send pictures of Bailey tomorrow and I will take them to get some scrapbooking supplies. We have done scrapbooking before.

Thanks for the idea.

Ah, man, that is sooooo sad.

The best thing to do is to get the process started as soon as possible and find them another great dog to fill the void.

We do get so close to our pets and they are absolutely a part of the family.  However, it would not be too soon to find them another friend that may need them as much as they have a need to love again.

I'm so sorry that they saw it all unfold be4 their eyes. I hope they will get over it as soon as they can get over it.

God Bless,

Venita
