Good luck to Andy!!  Tom and I were saying how we wish we had done this at such a young age!  That's my only regret - that I didn't do it 20 years earlier!!!

Hugs,

Hello all.  We came home this afternoon.  Andy has had a rough time managing his pain from the surgery.  Dr. Averbach told me after the surgery that men are harder to operate on, and that the abdominal wall contains much more muscle, hence much more "pain".  All in all, it has been a very traumatic experience for him ... keeping in mind that he's only 19 years old too and has never been hospitalized.  He needs to get through these next few days which, as we all know, are rough ones with lots of peaks and valleys.  He's trying to find his comfort zone at home right now but has not yet been able to lay down.  We've tried the recliner and the bed and another chair.   Day by day ...

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers.
