Helen Update

I stopped in to see her this evening - bringing her a gown and some Power Ade Zero's. and a Double Big Gulp cup of ice that was filled to the top but by the time I got there, it was about 3/4 full.

She is a hoot! I had liked her but now I love her!

She's saying that the doc is indicating she might be in for another week.

And she was also telling me that her roommate is bonkers - LOL - there's a huge conspiracy going on in her roommate's mind that everyone is out to kill Helen just because she had an argument with one of the nurses out in the hall. Giggle! She's a trip!

i told her I'd stop by on the way to Al's Sunday - she told me not to come up again unless I was on that side of town, as soon as she found out that I live in Lansdowne. So I told her I'll be in the area Sunday so she can't get mad at me if I stopped by!

I have a few gently read books laying around that I will give her now that I have an idea of what she likes to read.

She seems to be doing great - even calling herself Smurfette because of the blue stain she has on her neck. She is definitely anxious to get home, I can tell ya that!

Thanks! It was always obvious that Helen had spirit. But that has been even more evident through this experience and the stories her visitors have brought back to us. You GO Helen!

I agree with Debbie - Helen's spirit sounds amazing. We could all take something from that.

Thanks for the update Candy. So glad you were able to visit. I hope to meet her one day myself. Something tells me it's very hard to not like her!!!

I'm so glad you got to meet (and experience) Helen!! She's a trip, that's for sure!!! If your visit was anything like mine, there's stuff she said that you just CAN'T print here on the board!!! LOL!!!!

Helen? Argue with the nurses? Nahhh, I don't believe it!! LOL!!!

GMTA, Sorbi, because I'll be up there at some point on Sunday, too. Boxer's coming up my way tonight to get her hair done - if there's time, we might slip by then!!

I know she appreciated you coming by! She called me last night and left me a message before she went night-night!!

i can't imagine having to spend so much time in the hospital and not be able to eat by mouth? what kind of cruel world is this. sounds like she has a fighting spirit though and look forward to hearing she got out of the hospital.
