Share your story.  I''m headed to the beach today with my 3 kids.  Pre surgery.......I used to hate it!  Read about it in my blog.

Can't help you there, I've always LOVED water - beach, pool, lake, bathtub... LOL.

But I do want to say that I hope you and the family have a GREAT time!

Thanks Angie.  It's funny because my family comes from the dominican Republic which is in the Carribean.  You'd think I'd always love the water.  I am not even a good swimmer.  Lol.

I've always loved the beach and water, but that is not to say it was difficult with all my weight.  I have 3 girls 16, 13,  and 2.  Prior to this summer when we went to the beach for a week every summer I used to pay my oldest to carry all the stuff and the baby from the condo to the beach, because with my weight it was all i could do to get myself there.  She liked this because it was money in her pocket.  Well this...118 lbs lighter, I didn't need to do that!!!  I was so happy.  Not only did I carry a bunch of crap + the baby it was a piece of cake and I wasn't even huffing and puffing like prior years when I was carrying nothing!!  So that was a major Wow and happy moment for me this year.  Of course my oldest was a little sad she wasn't making money this year, but oh well!!

Enjoy your time at the beach!!

I've always been a water person and loved the beach and pool but was very embarassed by my weight.  I've been more this summer than I have in eons and I'm waaaaayyyy more comfortable now!

Same here!!!  I think it took me like 2 or 3 years after my surgery though to actually feel comfortable.  My brain didn't register yet that transformation I had gone through.....

You know earlier this summer I had the chance to go to the beach with 6 other post ops
and one pre op and what amazed me was how much easier it was walking
on the beach :  I think it was a wow moment for all  the post ops !

Can not wait to do it again thanks to GAIL:
