I went for my 3 month check up this morning with DVR and I am worried. I have been having trouble with "regular food" going down. So, he took me of my iron put me on an additional antiacid and is sending me for an upper GI.....I hate that test!!!! He said it could be little ulsers in my pouch??? He is happy with my weight loss but why am I not? I have been sad all day and can't shake myself out of this funk!!!!

Awww, Angela, don't you know we're always hardest on ourselves?  How much have you lost?  Now, think back - when was the last time you lost that much in that little bit of time?

Trust in DVR - you trusted him to do the surgery, trust him now to try to find out what the problem is.  I know it's not a pleasant test, but considering ALL that you went through to have the surgery, it'll be a piece of s/f cake!

Hang in there!!

Hugs,

Tia

Hang in there and try to remember all of the positive that has come out of your surgery.  Your doctor will get to the bottom of it.

I know this is a bump in the road, but you ARE doing great things for yourself and you ARE having success. You are doing the right thing by bringing this up now before it can become worse. Hang in there! You had the strength to do everything you have done so far. You can do this too! Sending positive thoughts and prayers!

Angela,

Sorry you are having problems, hang in there.

Thank you everyone for the support! It is just scaring me that I can't eat....even my favorite mashed potatoes are killing me! I take Previcid faithfully. Now my family and BF is giving me the "I told you so". I hope they are not right. I'm scared. Sorry for whining......but I know you guys understand........unlike my family.

Hi Angela,

I am sorry you are having issues with eating.  When are you go for the upper GI?
When you eat does it hurt when it is already in your pouch? Are you feeling burning sensation or even like acid reflux?

The good thing is that you are in good hands and DVR will do everything to get you to feeling well again.  I am sorry your family is not understanding. But they really can not understand since they have never been through it.

It is normal to feel nervous and scared especially wjhen we encounter complications.  I had to get treated for an ulcer I was given carafate and prevacid for a while and it cleared up.

I hope that soon you get to feeling better. Remember that we are all here for you!

Please keep us posted on your situation.

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.
