Before I bug the dr's office..
This is probably a stupid question...
My primary doctor moved to FL, so now my Endocrinologist is my primary doctor. Dr. S's office sent my old primary doctor the paperwork for my pre-op tests, but I have a copy. I'm assuming it doesn't really matter "who" does the pre-op testing (chest xray, ekg, etc), as long as the surgeon gets the info he needs. Both my old primary doctor and my Endo have been a part of the process from the start. So, my Endo does know that I am getting surgery. The test results don't have to come from the primary doctor I had at the beginning of this whole process, right?
I made my anesthesia appointment for Oct 8th. What exactly do they do? Just ask a bunch of questions?
I'm getting more excited.... Hopefully these 2 months go by fast! :) I do have my daughter's 2nd birthday to plan. So my mind is pre-occupied by that a little bit. She's having a Tinkerbell party, because she is OBSESSED with Tinkerbell!
However, DVR gave me a list of what tests needed to be performed, and didn't care if I had a bum on the corner do them as long as they were done correctly and in time for him to evaluate the results.
I think you'll probably find the same thing, but NEVER feel like you're bugging the doctor's office - they're there for us!
Hugs,
Tia
For the pre-op testing like a physical, ekg, etc...I don't think it matters who does this.
With regards to the pre-anethesia "testing" at Bayview, there is no actual testing other than having your weight, blood pressure, and temp taken. Other than that they ask you a bunch of questions and I think that is where they give you your Advance Directive paperwork. It was 30 minutes or less, if I remember correctly.
Good Luck,
Heather
