3 things for Tuesday
Good Morning Darla,
Congrats on the 5 lbs you go girl! The same thing happened to me and I am happy to report that I am laying off the kettle corn and I lost the pounds I gained. lol
I hope Tia had a good PT visit. Glad you had a good visit with Ranesa. That lady is DA BOMB!
Today I am grateful for:
1. Just one more wee****il school starts.
2. That Helen was moved to a regular room and she is doing better.
3. That life after WLS is full of endless possibilities and for that I am eternally grateful.
4. Tomorrow is Gino's 1 year surgiversay. He has lost 79 pounds and although he has not reached goal yet he is doing fantastic!! No more sleep apnea, no more diabetes, high cholesterol and high blood pressure. He feels great and he is planning to get on the ball to tone up the muscles. I am very proud of him.
Have a great day.
Hugs,

Cira, That is great about Gino, WAY TO GO! 79LBS is nothing to sneeze at! i am also grateful that Helen was transferred to a reg. room, and she is feeling better. I think Tia said that tomorrow is Helen's b'day, so good wishes being sent her way. Cira, if you talk to Helen please remind her that I have vits and protein powder for her, maybe I will give it to Tia @work, if she is planning on going to see her, I don't know, but we will figure it out. Whatever I have it's hers. AND, one last thing Cira, YOU LADY IS DA BOMB!! LOL Leslie:)
Leslie,
Thank you I will tell Gino that you said way to go! I am so glad about Helen too. She definitely deserves to feel better and to begin to enjoy her new life. I will pass along your message to Helen.

Good almost afternoon!!
I'm exhausted!! Right at 4 p.m. yesterday, Mom called and said Dad was vomiting and having terrible stomach pains, unlike any he's ever had before (despite countless tests and surgeries, they've never been able to figure out his GI issues). So.....off to the ER we go. Of course, Franklin Square's ER is like the doctor's office for the dregs of society in eastern Baltimore County. They post a sign indicating your wait time and for the main ER, it was 3 hours!!!!! Fortunately, or unfortunately, because of Dad's existing health issues, he was back there relatively quickly, had IV's going and was on Zofran and Dilaudid and was prepping for a CT scan, which they did at 9:15. At 10, the doctor says, "I can't find anything, it all looks good!" OMG!! I, of course, was glad to hear that, but it's frustrating. So today, Dad's completely wiped out, I'm exhausted, and my shoulder/neck is SCREAMING from sitting in hospital chairs all night. PT was okay this a.m., they did some electrical stimulation, which felt good, but IMHO, didn't last nearly long enough. The therapist noted that I have a strong pain tolerance, because they had the device ramped up pretty good and I wasn't uncomfortable. They want me to come 3 x a week, but at $25 a pop, that's NOT happening. I've got it down to once a week and if I can afford more, I will. I'm pretty miserable right now. I'm just looking forward to going home and taking a whole Flexeril and going to sleep until next Tuesday!!!!
Today, I'm grateful for:
1. Flexeril!!! There I said it. I AM GRATEFUL FOR PRESCRIPTION DRUGS!!! LOL
2. Hospital vending machines - Something told me that I should eat a protein bar before I left work yesterday. Good thing I did because dinner was M&M's and pretzels. Yeah, I know.
3. That Helen appears to be on the upswing! She called me this a.m., her cholesterol and triglycerides are in the good range and she sounded great. I'm going to call her later, I'll update all of you!
Don't forget, tomorrow is Helen's bday!! I'll post something to remind everyone. And now, the boss is yelling, so I'd better get to it!!!
Hugs,
Tia

Tia,
Sorry you and your family had to go to the ER at FSH, but thank G-d he is ok, and I will take that news at any hospital's ER. So now, you have a pain in the neck,
I had one for 13 years, I am so glad I divorced that pain, and amazingly enough, no drugs needed! Sometimes when you speak to the financial person at Physical therapy, they will make deals with you$$, and it never hurts to ask. Stay well, and tell Helen Happy B'day.... Leslie:)

10:23 PM and I'm pretty much just getting around to fitting in reading the post! (Didn't have my air card today!) Sorry to hear your Dad is having troubles again. Since they didn't find anything, any chance it was some horrid food poisoning???
Honey, as someone who has been in and out of PT for the past year I highly recommend that you go more than the one time a week if you can. The stim is GREAT! Kind of like gently having your finger stuck in a light socket! LOL I'm sure that's what helped my nerve this last time. Do they have you using ice on it at home? That really helped me too.
Glad to hear Helen is on the upswing!!! She surely deserves a break and better health!
Heading to Mom's Wednesday morning for a visit, but I'll check in later in the day when I can.
