Ok, I know stay off the damn scale, but,,,,, 289 this am. Feeling real good, not missing food, I think I will suffer from cravings when I smell foods, but I can, and will avoid the temptations, or deal with them reasonably, half an egg for example. This is like no other "diet" I have tried, if I can lose the weight before the RNY, then this will be the last diet, period!

Thanks,
Tom

  These are happy tears!!!

Right now, it's exhilarating to step on the scale and watch the numbers go in just one direction.  However, should the day ever come when you feel stressed stepping on it, by all means, BACK AWAY, and limit your exposure to once a week - the same day every week, perhaps a Monday, since that's when your surgery was.

I am SOOOOOOOOO happy for you, proud of you, honored to call you and El friends, and just excited as all get out to watch you experience the new life that wls has given you!!!

YOU ROCK and are already a true inspiration to many!!!!!

Hugs and love,

Tia

That weight is going to melt off of you so fast, after all you are a man!  lolI read that in the "It's not fair weightloss book between men and women"! lol

I weighed myself often too in the beginning it was so shocking to see the scale move so fast.

You are going to be one skinny man in less than 7 months! I just know it.

Best wishes to you.

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

Tom,

I remember the excitement and incredulity of the beginning stages and although the newness of it has worn off, it's still the most amazing time in my life!

Most of what you will feel with smelling foods, craving, etc are simply head hunger and can be annoying.  You may mourn food in the beginning but speaking from my 10 months of experience, you will be able to have these things again but in a MUCH smaller package.  I haven't had issues with anything that I've eaten so far.  I used to LOVE rice, pasta, and bread....and think of them fondly now, but no longer mourn them.  Gotta love it!
