HELEN/GRAMMOM UPDATE

I talked to Helen this afternoon.  She is sounding much better, happily relieved that they've discovered the source of her infection.

Apparently, she suffers from diverticulitis, and this caused a perforation in an intestinal pouch, causing E-coli to pour into her system.  She's now on heavy duty antibiotics and isn't expected to come home until after Monday.  When she does come, she essentially has to have round the clock care or she'll be released to a nursing home, because she needs to have meds pumped into her IV.  She'll have a nurse come in for three days, but it's the other days that are a problem.

I'm going to see her tomorrow - she needs a nightgown, so I'm off to Walmart to pick one up for her.

She SO appreciates all of the good thoughts and prayers.  She also had some other choice, "Grammom-like" words, which I'm too much of a lady to repeat here!!!!  LOL!!!

I am finally feeling human! Its been hell! My open wound from surgery is alomost closed! I am so glad.....I wanna go swimming so bad & cant because its still open! The scales say I am down 42 pounds!!!!! Woo Freakin Hoo!!

Tia thanks for the update and do tell her I send well wishes and love. If she needs anything let me know. I am willing to help. If you need some $$$ to but nightgowns or whatever just let me know I will help with the cost so no one has to eat it alone. I know times are tight. I am not trying to offend anyone... Just trying to help...

Thanks for the update, and please tell Helen, I send my wishes and that I am holding on to the protein powder & vits for when she gets home. I also want to extend my help whether it's to pick up something, add to a $$$ fund,as Julie said, so no one takes it on themselves, once again, I am not trying to step on toes, I just know that no one has a $$ tree in their backyard, since they all have been hit by lightning!  Helen is a trooper, once she gets over this hump, she will be off and running! I am sending good thoughts her way, and she's in my prayers! Hurry back Helen, we miss you!  Leslie:)

Leslie, What a nice person you are. In this day and time we all need some help now and then. It really shows how sweet you are even to make the offer to help. I love the $$$$$ tree getting hit by lightning... You are a gem. Lets do lunch...

this woman has been through alot, hasn't she. well definitely glad they figured out what the problem was and she is hopefully on the mend. send her my well wishes.
