Tom Update
Well I'm home, Tia pretty much covered it,, BUT
Went into the OR just after 10am, I got to my room, (PRIVATE!!) at around 3-3:30, and El and the girls stopped in shortly thereafter. Delaldin(sp?) does not agree with me, almost everytime I pressed the button, I got the heaves. NOT a good thing after WLS OUCHY OUCHY OUCHY. I kind of freaked the girls out, so I had El take them home. I stopped pressing the button early afternoon Tuesday, and what do you know,, no more Heaves. Pain,,, there, but not too horrible. They kept telling me to push the button, and they could give me meds for the nausea. IT DON'T WORK, AND UNLESS I AM SCREAMING, I AIN'T PUSHIN' NO DAMN BUTTON. Got liquids Tuesday, apple juice (yum) broth, (yum) and I was full, didn't touch tea or jello, same thing tuesday night. Oh also got cathator removed Tuesday,, what can I say, it was good to get rid of it, but it ain't high on my fun list.
Wednesday (today) got some HORRIBLE,, I say HORRIBLE oatmeal, I dumped a couple of packets of sweetner on it, and 4 spoons filled me up. I did drink a few swallows of milk as well (yummy, I LOVE milk) It was 2%, but thats what I drink anyway. Lunch was MUCH better, purreed chickin (really quite yummy) mashed potatoes, and I think sweet pottatoes, Tasted "differnt" but all was good, a little of each, and I was done, ABSOLUTLEY MIND BLOWING. I was starving when I had my back surgery in 2001, not even close to putting a dent into any meal. They took my JP drain out around 2pm, uhhh that was really weird, I thought it was just a tube, but he pulled a few inches of tubing, then a approx 4" x .5" flat piece. They took the IV out around 3, and El got there shortly after. We dropped my RXs off at target, but wait was an hr so El is going to pick the girls up, and then get the 'scripts.
My review of St Agnes? EXCELLANT!!!!!!!!!!! There was one nurse with a heavy accent, but everyone there was great. The respatory nurse was top notch, the techs were great, the RNs were great, and Dr Averbach,, damn good guy and surgeon. My overall experience I would say was a 9 out of 10, (no-one will ever get a 10, it leaves no room for improvement)
