Jumping out of lurkdom to say:  Crossing my fingers for you, too!

I called United Health Care today and learned that the spiffy new medical insurance my company switched to on 1 June "has no coverage for bariatric surgery."  I emailed Dr. Averbach; he wrote me back promptly and suggested I contact my company's benefits manager and ask for a waiver; I've already started the ball rolling with an email, but I have no idea if this is even possible.
