Dr Lidor / Bayview
I had the misfortune to have had a consult with her. After filling out about a dozen pre consult forms (twice) she made it quite clear that she didn't even bother to read them. She said I wouldn't lose weight with lap band (I was still debating surgeries) because I could drink milkshakes all day. HELLO? My paperwork stated clearly that I have a MILK ALLERGY. When I told her this, she brushed it off and wouldn't even talk about lap band. Lots more reasons I decided to go elsewhere. I would have stayed at Bayview with a different surgeon, but let's just say there wasn't a lot of help provided in the office when I asked about changing surgeons.
Thanks of your replys ..

Dr. Lidor did my surgery and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about her. She's always been very "real" with me. She is kind, friendly, caring, and obviously a gifted surgeon. On my initial consult she told me that she wouldn't do the LapBand on me for various reasons, mainly my comorbidities and the amount of excess weight that I would need to lose to see a dramatic improvement in the comorbidities. I was disappointed but her reasonings made sense.
I wound up having gastric bypass surgery with her on 11/7/08 and i couldn't have asked for a better experience. I'm 9 months post op and have lost 117 lbs. 3 months after surgery I was off of meds for diabetes and high blood pressure. I'd say that I've had pretty awesome results.
I am so thankful that Dr. Lidor steered me in the right direction. I completely respect a doctor who would rather run the risk of losing out on money and telling a patient that she doesn't think a particular surgery isn't "right" for them than do the surgery just to make a few bucks knowing that it wasn't the best option for the patient.
Good luck on your journey!
