Something to try

As you all know I am always looking to find things to eat that I do not have to use artificial sweetners. This morning I had a protein shake with some steel cut oats added, milk and some frozen peaches. That consisted of about 30 grams of protein if not a little more. Instead of cooking the oats I place them in my magic bullet and grind them up to a powder with my protein powder. It wasn't absolutely delicious but it wasn't bad either. I think a banana might have been better to sweeten it a little more. Anyway, nothing artificial there and I had the right amount of protein and a complex carb for balance.

Someone on another forum said to take a banana and ma**** up. Add melted unsweetened chocolate squares and mix well. Put in the freezer and eat like ice cream. Don't freeze too long or it will become hard as a rock. I haven't tried yet but plan to this weekend. Nothing artificial there. I am going to keep searching for only natural foods to eat so as I find some that are tasty I will post them here.

It will be water for me today....no Crystal Light!

Gail I read about that on the other board and i wondered how it would work.

I can tell you that it will take a few days but that if you tough it out that eventually fruit will taste VERY sweet to you  and even carrots will taste sweet.

I know I have too much splenda and I wonder how much of it contributes to my inability now to lose weight...

Oh so NATURAL! sounds delish. I have quite a while, i suppose, b4 i can eat like this but sounds so good. 

I really won't want to be reliant on all of those substitue sweetners as i move thru this process as well. I was never a person that ate a lot of sweets (cakes/cookies/pies etc) nor did i use lot of sub. sweetners b4 my surgery.  Only equal whenever i got the taste for a cup of coffee (about 1 cup every 3 months or so).

Sounds good Gail...bananas are definitely one of the sweeter fruits!  I find nicely ripe strawberries or blueberries to be nice as well!
