Thank you Cira & Nessa for volunteering to be my angel, i did not go back on line after Monday nite just did not have time and so i missed your messages.  I'm sorry but thank you so much.

And thanks to eveyone for cheering me on and being supportive. Had surgery on Tuesday and stayed an extra night on Wednesday because of how i was feeling. Got home yesterday and im so glad i was there that extra nite bcuz i got the drain taken out yesterday b4 i left. YAY!

i am so unorganized bcuz now i'm trying to get all of the things i need to sip on etc.  i really don't want to get dehydrated or end up back in the hosp. on that awful bed.

but, i did it yall, i've had my surgery and i'm on my way. new life challanges and accomplishments to look forward to. It's true, you really do feel newly re-born and everything in front of you is a new chance for change and healthier living.  i'm so excited.

but right now i just feel a lttle weak. i will certainly be posting in regards to this whole new way of eating.

Thank you OH and thank God for all of the support we can receive at this site. And, BTW, speaking of all things new, just so you all know my middle name is Carol and i used my other email address to set up this profile, but my first name is Venita and that's what everyone calls me. Should have let u all know that long time ago.

Peace, Happy Friday!

Carol -

NOW you tell us that your real name is Venita.  THAT'S why I couldn't find you at St. Agnes the day after your surgery!  I even called the bariatric unit and of course, understandably due to HIPAA, they weren't able to give me any info.  Patient info told me there was someone with your last name, but not Carol.  UGH!!  I'm soooo sorry!  I even called Ranesa, only to remember too late that she's on vacay this week!

I'm also really sorry that you didn't have an angel.  I try to make it a point to not let that happen, if I can help it.  I know Cira was feeling really bad, too, that she couldn't get to you in time.  Well, we're all your angels now, so whatever you need, let us know.

I'm so glad that everything went well.  The first six weeks are definitely challenging, but you'll do great!!!

Hugs you loser!

Tia

OMG! sorry tia, and you know i had used the phone in my room just in case any of you guys called to try and get info from St. Agnes.  Dah, i really wasn't thinkin bcuz how could you get info without my first name. And to top it off, when i was checking in, the lady asked me if i wanted my room number/phone info given out if anyone called to check on me and i said yes, absolutely. And dumba$$me i still didn't think to tell them to add Carol as the middle name bcuz that's who they'd be calling for.

Well, i missed that oppt. to get those badly needed words of encouragement Tuesday eve and Wednesday.

Thanks Detective Tia, you were on the case though.

Well, it's certainly not a "Craftmatic" even though you have to push the up button this way and push the down button that way to try and get comfy. i did not enjoy the bed whatsoever. i just could not get comfortable. and i see why they want you up and walking around after sugery bcuz you turn into a stiff zombie in those beds when you lie for too long.

also, i could never get the bed low enough for me to get on. and felt like i was doing some kind of sit up exercise in order to lift up to get out of the bed. OHHHH! it was just frustrating Nessa!

Oh, and thanks for your offer of help in the other message Nessa.

Carol aka Venita, it might take me a little time to get used to your name, so I hope you don't mind if I slip and call you Carol sometimes! I am so happy for you, you've made it to the other side and it really sounds like you are ready for this journey. Make sure you buckle up, wear a helmet, wear knee, elbow and shin pads. You might as well throw in a mouth guard, you can never be too prepared! You are in for a terrific, bumpy, life altering ride! I had my surgery in Feb, and these last 5 months have been like the best months ever! (except raising my kids) You will learn so many things about yourself, some good, and some..well you know! Enjoy each and every mile, join support groups, keep posting and asking any ???? some one on this board always has the answers! I wish you luck and a very successful trip!  Leslie:)
