I know.. I'm still 3 months away from surgery and I'm already planning ahead.   I was wondering what is JH Bayview's policy on having children visitors?  I can not live without my daughter for even a couple of days. She's my life!  Will they let her in to see me after I recover? She'll be 2 years old in October.

I did not know the answer and tried to see what was on their web site. It is not clearly defined there either. I think you will have to contact the hospital directly. I did see one note that the rules for visitors vary by department.

In some hospitals, I have seen very young ones restricted to the visitor lounge and the patient has to go there to see them - not sure if that applies in this case or not.

I don't know the answer to this either.  I just wanted to suggest calling the hospital and asking.  When I was there I saw children visiting but I don't know the policy.

I know that makes me sound like a bad mom, but my son has chronic lung disease (from a traumatic birth) and my surgery was during RSV season, so I wouldn't have considered taking him.

Hi Lisa -

Heather M. is usually on here later in the day, so I'm sure she'll be able to let you know as she was just there pretty recently.

Hugs,

Lisa,

When I was there in October my almost 2 year old niece had to stay in the visitor's lounge.  However, it's possible that they'll let your daughter in because she is yours.  I'd call the hospital to check it out!

Heather
