I wanted to share with you my experiences of the past week.  Hopefully this will give y'all a smile.  Well aside from my cellulitis coming back last thursday, I went to my 20 year high school reunion!  20 years come and gone just like that!!!!  It was awesome to see everyone and it's interesting how life and rode some hard and how others just seem to be suspended in time and never change.

Well, I go to the dinner/dance saturday night and a few people ran up to me who knew who I was through facebook.  The people who DIDN'T know me was priceless!  They would come up to me to ask me who I was and they would look at my nametag and their jaw HIT THE FLOOR!!!!!!  Now I graduated with 432 kids so even I don't know everyone that i graduated with but for the most part everyone knew me by the end of the night!  I was so happy.  Not only has my WLS journey been a success, I finally realized that my life as a whole has been a huge success.

How awesome is that!!!  My 20yr reunion was last year but I didn't go. Now that I am losing weight, I look forward to my next reunion.   I love that you got such a great reaction from people who haven't seen you in a while.  No matter what anyone says, we all want a little acknowledgement of our success and at least 1 or 2 jaws on the floor!!!!

That's so awesome Aaron.  No one knew me my senior year of high school.  I graduated with 720 kids and was only there for that year.  I had an after school job so I didn't participate in any extra curricular activities.  However, I went to school in Morocco for the first three years and many of the people live in this area now.  I got back in touch through FB and have avoided getting together with anyone because of my weight...now I'm looking forward to it.

Amazing what the WLS has brought to our lives!!

Aaron sounds like you had a fantastic evening. I would have loved to seen the expressions on their faces!

Wuzzy -

I am SO, SO, SO proud of you!!!  It's pained me to watch you struggle with depression this year, and I really hope this helps you see how far you've come and what an amazing job you've done.  I would've loved to have seen their faces!!!  PRICELESS!!

Of course, none of that changes the fact that inside, you're still an amazing man - the outside is just a s/f coating!!!!

I love you more than words can say!!!!

Hugs,

B
