GRAMMOM/HELEN UPDATE!
I just called Grammom/Helen - she said she's sore and was getting ready to get some more pain meds and anticipated being "out" for about two hours!!
She sounded really good, all things considered, but doesn't know when she's going to be released. In her words, "I haven't passed gas yet!" LOL!!!! She's a trip!!
If I don't get to see her tonight, I'll call her and update all of you tomorrow.

That passing gas crap is the worse! I hope she gets to feeling better soon. I was going to call her but I rather let her rest. If you see her tell her I have her in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks! When I talked with her earlier, she said her doctor would be in after 3, when he was finished with his patients.
She also said that last night, the nurse was almost forcing liquid into her, and she got sick. I suggested she also tell Dr. Vanguri that.

Some doctors only do leak tests DURING surgery, while others, like DVR, do two - one during surgery and that yummy one the next day.
Helen "should" also come home on mushies - waaaay different from us!!!
FSHC doesn't have a bariatric ward like GBMC; they're building a new patient tower, but I still don't know if they'll have a unique ward.

I think the worst for me was the referred gas pain in my shoulder, of all places! I woke up thinking someone had operated on my shoulder by mistake!!!
She didn't say she was sick from the pain meds, but if she is, hopefully, she'll say something, because they can give her something for that, too.
Yeah, I sure wouldn't want to repeat those first 6 weeks or so!
