Good Morning Maryland

Well I must say we had some nasty storms come thru the area last night:  just glad
I got home before they started!

Tia will be back online tomorrow so I will start the post 1 last day.

1.  TIA AND FAMILY ARRIVED HOME SAFELY!

2,  For the friends I have found thanks to WLS and this board!  Friday I had some dinner
and saw a movie with Kathy and Deb:  OMG we laughed so hard at " The Ugly Truth"
Its so nice to have friends who have the same sense of humor as you do LOL  Twice
during the movie I had thoughts run thru my head only to have Deb or Kathy lean over
and say the same thing that I was thinking :  to be honest I laughed just as hard at that then
I did at the movie.

3.  For half price pizza Sundays at a local carryout:  Stopped on my way home from work
yesterday and picked up my lunch for the next week:  not bad $6.00 for lunch the
whole week LOL!.

4.  For Aarons post that Grandmom's surgury is a go!.

So my friends have a wonderful day!

What storms?  I totally missed them working at JC Penneys from 2:00 to 11:30 PM!
I bet if there was ever a nuclear bomb, I'd be safe just because I worked at JC Penneys  LOL

Grateful Things:

1.  I am so glad to see that Tia made it home safely and her family too!  It was great to see her email!

2.  So glad that Grammom's surgery is a go.  That woman is wonderful and I wish her the best!!!!!  Hmmm....I wonder if I should stop by to see her today....where is she going to be?  I need to give her a hug and thank her for her wise words to live by.

3.  I worked 48 hours over the last two weeks at JC Penneys - so that means I should have a wee bit extra fundage for our trip on Saturday to AC.

4.  Although I only had about 6 hours of sleep, I'm at work and I'm functional, probably at 85% right now, so thank goodness for Coffee!

5.  7-11 had some creamer yesterday that was to die for, but it's not for the WLSrs, sorry!  It was the white chocolate coconut flavor....YUMMY but I'll wait another couple of weeks unless I know I'll have a strenuous day at work - I definitely burned off that sugar within the first 2 hours of working at JCP yesterday.

6.  Baby got hurt by Holly, and the vet's office was able to see her almost immediately, and that although it'd looked bad, she's okay, she has a little scratch on her eyeball.  Her eye was bleeding from Holly's sucker punch.  Needless to say, they are in separate rooms again for another week.  The other grateful thing was that I didn't have the money for the vet, so hubby paid the bill for me.

7.  I'm just glad for everyone, although I may lurk frequently - you all are always on my mind!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Candy,

I am glad you survived this weekend.
Sorry to hear about Baby. I am glad that she is alright. Poor baby.

I hope you have a less busy week.

Hugs,

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

I'M BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!!!

Good morning!!!  Yes, we made it back safely - I must say, the drive back wasn't nearly as long as the drive down (5 hours down, including two potty stops for Happy!).

Today, I'm grateful for:

1.  Our wonderful vacay!  Even though my family makes me crazy (and I them), there's nothing like family and I know how lucky I am!  Traffic was light in OC ****il the day we left, and then there was NO parking at the inlet).

2.  I spent lots of time with friends - Boxer came down for the day and we took Mom shopping and to lunch (YUMMY fish tacos for me), I met with my friend, Trooper Chris, whom I only get to see every year (he lives on the shore) - he bought me breakfast, and therefore, my friendship, and I got to meet Heather and Floyd the night before we left at Duffy's Tavern because there was an hour wait for Tequila Mockingbird.

3.  My scale stayed exactly the same!!!  WOOOO-HOOOO!!!  I didn't overdo it with the food, I had about 10 Thrasher's each of the 3 times the family got them, ice cream once, some chocolate and a little alcohol (despite my drunken text to Aaron, I really DIDN'T drink too much!!  lol).  I walked a lot, so I'm guessing that kept my weight even.  I also took shakes and yogurt for breakfast every morning, and during the meals we had out, I made healthy, good tasting choices (for the most part), and/or shared with someone.  Trust me, there's NO reason you HAVE to eat like a pig at the beach - either pre or post-op!

4.  For the texts and calls I got while at the beach!  Thanks for keeping me updated!!

5.  To my girls who kept the usual threads going!!  I hope, by now, everyone enjoys these posts!!  I know I enjoy coming up with new threads to keep the board interesting and supportive!!  Thanks, girls!!

6.  That Helen's surgery is a go!!  That poor woman has fought just about longer and harder than anyone I know!!!!  I anxiously await Aaron's update today.  She'll be having open surgery, so I don't envy her THAT recovery!

7.  That Happy did GREAT on vacay.  Even though we were HORRIBLE and seem to have left her fave toy at the beach!!!  I feel SOOOOOOOOOOOOO bad and am diligently searching online to find a replacement.  Sigh.

8.  We had a BEAUTIFUL townhouse - 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, HUGE living room, dining room, kitchen, balconies, fireplace (which we used), indoor AND outdoor pool (yes, those were MY piggies in the pic) and beautiful grounds with a pond full of ducks and geese - much to Happy's excitement!!  The place was outfitted with top of the line amenities and fixtures, too.  The only complaint from the men is that it wasn't technically IN OC, but rather, in West OC.  Oh, well!!!  They know better than to complain too loudly, or THEY will be the ones searching next year!!!

Okay, getting ready to go pick up Killian from the vet's, then I'm going to do some laundry at Gary's and take KB to an "end of vacay" lunch. They were pretty good at the beach, but I confess that sometimes, I needed a striped shirt and whistle!!! *rolling eyes*  And for my parents, too!!

Have a great day everyone!!!

Hugs,

Tia

I TRY TO TAKE IT A DAY AT A TIME, BUT SOMETIMES, THE DAYS ALL GANG UP ON ME AT ONCE!

I'M NOT PERFECT, NEVER CLAIMED TO BE.  BUT BEFORE YOU POINT YOUR FINGER AT ME, MAKE SURE YOUR HANDS ARE CLEAN!

Good morning Hunter's Mommy!!!

I'm really sorry you had to do that, but I'm glad you have your parents - and them, you.  It'll all work out, I know, but I HOPE it happens soon for you!

Good Morning Everyone! Bet you did not expect to see me this AM. Turns out they will not be ready for me until 11:30AM. So my first day will be a shorter one. Once I get the lay of the land and have enough info to be independent, my schedule should be more normal.

Darla - Thanks to you and Kathy for Friday. I had a fun time. As for the movie it is quite fun. The ratings are awful. But if you go into it without expecting Academy Award material for a bit of fun fluff, then you will enjoy it. Darla, congrats on planning the food for the week - that is great! Keep going like that and you will be ready to retire even more clothes!

Candy - I am glad you survived the sales at JCP. And now that it is over, you have the paycheck to look forward to - the best part!

Tia - I am so glad you had a good time. Congrats on proving that you can have fun and still eat smart.Welcome back!

Becki - Good Luck on the interview! Go with confidence!

Wishing Grammom all the best today!

I had a fabulous weekend. Besides dinner and the movie on Friday night, I got a lot of errands done on Saturday, and then capped the weekend off with an impromptu kayak outing on Sunday - AHHHHH!

As I mentioned above, I start my new contracting position today at 11:30AM. I am expecting to be working full time. It is the nature of the project that will be working on that I will not have a lot of extra time to devote to the boards. Please know that my heart will still be with you all and I will check in as often as I can.

Today, I am grateful for....

1 - The most obvious - getting back to work. Yes, I am a little anxious and apprehensive because I want to prove why they need to hire me permanently. Those opportunities should be opening up later in the year.

2 - The freedom to have fun! Before WLS I could not do the things that I do so freely and almost without thought now. Yes, there are times that are a struggle. But life is still so much more now than it was before.

3 - My family and friends!

Have a wonderful day!

I hope this is the start of good things to come for you!  I hope you have a wonderful first (half) day!!

We know where to find you, don't worry!  You just concentrate on yourself and getting things back on track!

Hugs & love,

Tia
