Carefirst approval

Apparently, when Maryland surgeons are sending in info for approval, they are supposed to send it to Care Essentials, not BC/BC Carefirst.  I wasn't sure why my approval was taking so long, and when I called Carefirst she told me to double-check with the doctor's office to make sure they sent it to the correct approval office.

i had a problem as well but it was the doc's office after they finally sent it about a week later i was approved

Mine went to BCBS Carefirst because that's what I have as my insurance?

It's so confusing because there are so many BC/BS plans and they are all different.

When my husband was first put on my insurance I had to stress to him that he had to say FEDERAL BC/BS because it's different than Carefirst BC/BS or BC/BS of Maryland....

Mine was confusing too. I have National BCBS, but it went to Carefirst for approval.

I haven't been approved yet.  I'm wondering what is taking so long, so I started calling insurance today and they told me that my doctor's office might have filed it incorrectly.  When I called my docs office I always get an answering machine.  It is frustrating.  I will keep calling the docs office until they give me something that I can hope for.
