OK I have gotten this far

Ok I have gotten this far in the preop process and now I am confussed.  I had recieved a call from the drs office saying they had set up appointments for me to finish the preop workups for my surgery in September. It was divided into two phases.  Phase one was a chest xray and upper GI series with contrast. At the last minute they added a small bowel scan with contrast an told me depending upon my system it could take one to 4 hours or more.  Luckely I was in and out able to get to work before my whole day was gone.   Now I was supposed to be at Univeristy of Maryland Hospital at 10:45 this morning but  didn't make it.  

It was explained to me that today was for blood work,the chest xray and the upper GI and to had some paper work to anesthesia.  But since I couldn't make the second appointment I now have to go back and the Co ordinator said something about me having to do todays over again.  


I am confused totally and completely.

Does any one else have any idea about any of this?  If so please explain.

Hi Lori,

I am sorry you wasn't able to make it but I have noidea since all dr's require different exams and stuff.  I hope they can explain to you the reason as to why you need to repeat the first part again.

yes Lori what Cira said lol, they should not have to do the ones you did already again , different insurances do things other ways, im sorry u r going through this . dont give up!!!

Thanks every one.  I have no plan on giving up and I did find out that I don't have to do the same tests over again.  Basically they will be doing a lot of blood work, meeting with anasthesia and a group session on my next vist.  After that I meet with the doctor and then the surgery.  (I hope)

Thanks Lori now see your seeing the anasthesia dr i wont see him or her till i go in on monday all drs are different i did however see the surgical nurse. I hope you have smooth sailing from here on and thanks again for the hug
