Dad passed away yesterday

I knew he was going very soon, but now he has, and he does not have to suffer anymore with cancer.  He had the obesity gene too, and until he experienced severe weight loss and malabsorption due to cancer, he was obese himself.  I believe he is in heaven now, and having his eyes opened to all the mysteries we are not able to understand about life when we are here on earth.  I wish he could fill me in, but that doesn't seem to be the way it works.  I did have somethign weird happen in the wee hours this morning.  The plastic cup beside my bed full of water spontaneously flicked itself off the table and splashed water all over my side of the bed.  I wondered if that was Dad. The loud ping against the cup woke up Jim too. 

It is a heartwarming and reassuring feeling to realize I have friends here on OH.  Your support regarding my Dad, and your friendship and help all throughout  this ordeal of being obese and getting WLS has been invaluable. My life would never have improved like it has without you all. Thanks.

I'm sorry to hear of you dads passing, but it sounds like he is in a much better place, healthy, without pain.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I bet the cup falling was your Dad telling you he is okay.

I am so sorry about the passing of your father.  It sounds like you have an attitude that will help you get through this!  I lost my father 1.5 years ago and I am still looking for those little signs!

I am so sorry to hear about your Dad.  I apologize for not being in touch as I don't get on this site very much anymore but i do cherish the friends I have met here.  I know your Dad was sending you sign he is still with you I firmly believe this to be true.  On another note, congratulations on your weight loss you have done fantastic!! I assume Jim is gentleman friend of yours and if so, I hope this works out for you or maybe it is already I am out of touch that is for syre.

Theresa firt off, you look amazing!  Congrats.  Yes, Jim is the man in my life, and we are very happy together.  It's been 5 months so far.  I haven't been on OH in some time either.  We'll catch up soon.

So sorry for your loss. My Mom is very ill now and I am trying to prepare myself for that sad day when she says goodbye. I am sure that your Dad is with you and will always be. If I can be of help just let me know my heart feels for you and your family.
