What is everyones choice,, and must avoid. Dry or RTD? I need to find something in the next couple of weeks.

Thanks,
Tom

have you been to the Vitamin Shop up on Reisterstown Road in Owings Mills?   We got some stuff there that we like.  and if you hate it you can bring it back for a store credit (if opened)

I'm especially fond of the Syntrax Nectar Fuzzy Navel protein powder.  NOT CHEAP... but I like it both as a liquid and mixed with greek yogurt.

I have always used the Body Fortress brand of Whey Powder from Wal*Mart. Its a HUGE 2lb tub that last a good month for only 14.95. I buy chocholate and mix it with my coffee to have protein coffee. Sometimes I buy other flavors at GNC to change it up but the one at Wal Mart is so cheap and PACKED with PROTEIN!!! ;o)

Nope not yet, might go looking today, but El has Drs appt this am, I have my preop with my primary this afternoon, and right now I am crashing out as it was a LLLLOOOONNNNGGGG drive home Monday.  Funny how I can drive 1800 miles in two days by myself, but we left Boston about 9:30a, I had to drive to LI NY to pick up my car, and then El had to follow my home from there. It is a PITA to have to watch her in the mirror as well as watch traffic.

Tom im choosing not to try them untill after surgery GNC sells samples so if you cant tolerate them you simply dont by the big jars, i think thats the best way cause so many people are saying that even though they liked  them before surgery after surgery thier taste buds varried and they did like the ones they bought

Tom - I am very tolerant and like most of the ones I have tried, both premixed and powders. I did not like the ones from Bariatric Advantage. I only like their vitamin products, not their food products. I have heard that some folks tastes change post op. So you might not want to buy too much ahead of time. Anytime you find an opportunity to buy small quantities or samples, do so. This gives you a chance to try without a big investment. I also like Nessa's suggestion about the Vitamin Shoppe - my fav place!

My particular "thing" is mint. I have always liked mint. So I like to create a chocolate mint shake by adding a little mint extract to my protein shakes. I put it in the blender with a lot of ice. It takes me a long time to eat it. There are lots of flavorings and extracts out there, including the DaVinci SF syrups. Some folks create their custom protein shakes using the mix as the base with the added flavorings. I have also seen some folks add a canned liquid shake to their AM coffee, for a mocha latte type thing. I guess the bottom line to all of this is to experiment.

Tom, I'm just ten days post-op, and learning what I like.

Before surgery, I was having a protein shake for bfast each day. And I was using Max Protein (chocolate) from GNC.

I'm fortunate in that my taste buds didn't change, so I can continue to use the shake I already love.

MY personal problem (and one that I think would sound whiney anywhere but here) is that in the liquid stage, I was completely OVER drinking chocolate milk (in essence) 4x/day, by the second day.

So I went to GNC at North Plaza Mall, where they have a great supply of other kinds of protein drinks (they stock more than the other GNCs in the area, they told me, because they're next door to a gym). And I bought one of almost everything.

The Isopure protein drinks aren't horrible for me, but I'd rather drink the chocolate shake ;)

The protein bullets are just wretched for me (mouth feel is a big deal to me and those things, for me, are like snot), BUT....half mixed in a bottle of water, turns into something entirely doable for me.

And I've found that if I mix the unflavored Bariatric Advantage (which smells like vanilla to me, btw) in yogurt, or hot cream soups, that works, too.

So, with four days left to go in the liquid phase, I'm doing:

* Chocolate shakes
*  Yogurt
* Soup
* Protein bullets mixed into water

For me--enough of a variety. But I swear, I can't wait to move beyond this!

Good luck to you!
A
