3 THINGS FOR FRIDAY

It is even neater in that it is my Grandmother's (Mom-Mom). I lost a number of my Mother's recipes during the days of my first sister-in-law (nothing malicious - she just over-cleaned without looking at what she was throwing out). My Mother's cookbooks had my Grandmother's Peach Cake, Easter Eggs (candy), and Sour Beef recipes which are now gone to me forever. I have found replacements but it is not the same.

oh wow I didn't even realize that.  I do think that at least ONE of my old old cookbooks is my father's mother's that she gave my mom....  I know I have some of her recipes.

I rarely use them but it's so cool to have them...  and you are right  'replacements' are never the same.

Debbie - just a tidbit about decluttering - I have to do that myself, and have a closet that I will be doing just that this weekend.  It's got a lot of school stuff in it.  So I'll be throwing away everything I know I can reprint (since I keep all of my emails).  I haven't been in that closet since I moved to the townhouse in 2006 - so I'm very tempted to just throw everything away; but I have to go through the things.

As I'm going through my stuff, I generally ask myself, can I replace this?  If I can - out the door it goes.

I have so much craft stuff, and clothes, shoes, handbags, etc.... that I've been moving around for years, and so when I go through it, I'll ask myself - can I get another one?  If not, I keep it.  If I can, I tend to donate first, if they are in excellent condition; or they go in the trash.

I'm actually thinking about getting all that yarn out of storage in VA and having a yard sale one day this year.  I've got like 50 - 60 cross stitch kits most of them safari animal themes, about 25 afghan pattern books, and I have 10 30-gallon totes stuffed full of yarn.  I know I can buy yarn again and buy the books and cross stitch kits , etc.

I've also got to declutter my furniture.  I have a reclining sofa set and a futon in the living room- and may be selling the futon so I can make room in the living room.  I've got a computer desk in the 2nd bedroom that is being used as a put stuff here location, and I need to get that out - and put up shelves instead.  No one can go wrong with having too many shelves.  :)

Have fun with your decluttering!

Hi Heather,

So glad to hear that yesterday was a good day for you. I hope you do get to stay dry today. It is really cloudy and muggy today and we expecting thunder showers. Yay on being off this weekend.

Today I am grateful for:

1. TGIF

2. That I will take it easy again today since I am having pain in my tummy yet again. I had to admit it to hubby yesterday when he saw me not feeling so hot.

3. For wonderful friends that keep me laughing throughout the day.  I am so glad to be back on the board!

Have a great day everyone.

Hugs,

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

Hope your tummy feels better!  Is it the same feeling you had before you went to the hospital?  Hope not!

1. My last day at current job is TODAY. I am a contractor for SSA and starting Monday, I will be a full SSA employee. Yay, better benefits and better raises eventually, even though right now there's no pay increase.

2. JC Penney! I love that store! $5 dress pants and $4 suit jacket!

3. Harry Poter with hubby tomorrow. I know that's not for Friday but that's how today will pass, waiting for date day with him tomorrow :) Movie, lunch, shopping and then he'll be ready for a nap.
