I am exactly four months from RNY today...  I have yet to find anything I cannot eat at all... Yes portions are MUCH smaller...  The only thing I have not tried is steak - I have however had pot roast and burger meat...  I have had ribs, chicken, hamburger, lasagne, spagetti, etc.  Nothing has given me any trouble if I chew well and eat slow...

I cannot however drink after a meal or I do get sick... This is one rule I cannot break to save my life!

I am however down over 100lbs in my four months...  Don't discount this as the way to go...

Yes, St. Agnes is in Baltimore.  If you go there, I can be your junior angel - I live like 5 minutes from St. Agnes, so I try to stop in to check on my newbie losers if I'm not working that night.  I work two jobs - a regular day time one and a part time that has me working evenings & weekends.  for very special people, I try to take time off from work to leave early so I can stop by and make a special trip.

I didn't have any angels when I had my surgery, but have visited with a couple of them, and being an angel is a wonderful experience for me, so I'm looking for the next victim  LOL.

Everyone has given you great suggestions.

I do want to let you know that I know some people might have some intolerance to some foods. I must say that my husband and I hboth had the RNY with Dr. David Von Reuden and we both can eat everything we ate prior to having surgery just in small portions.

We are both doing great.

Our surgeon is located in Baltimore at St. Agnes Hospital

Best of luck to you!

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

Drs Gandsas and Li at Sinai Hospital accept BCBS. I don't think they do DS, as Gansas is one of only a few who are board certified to do VGS.

It was in listening to Gandsas talk (he does a free monthly thing at the hospital) that I decided to do VGS. It might be good to go listen and see what you think--especially since VGS was developed following a DS gone bad, when they realized they didn't need to do the replumbing part to get the same result!

Please come check out the DS board ~ lots of people willing to answer your questions over there.

Also, for a vetted list of DS surgeons (do not trust OH's list) please checkout dsfacts.com.
