Do not mistaken

Do not mistaken what I am writing here as something to be depressing.  Just had some thoughts and wanted to share.

I have a lot to offer this world, too much living to do, to may first expriences to have and too many books to write to die prematurely.  I know that seems like a statement of depression but it is the just opposite.  I am facing a premature death if my insurance company does not approve my surgery.   In the past 6 to 8 weeks I have had several new co morbidities come to light.  My mother died a premature death at 57 and I just tuned 51.  Does any one see where I am going with this?   Basically I am saying that the insurance company if they deny to cover my surgery they are sentencing me to the death penalty for commiting no crime.

I have just made up my mind that I am going to FIGHT with everything I have and on all possible avenues that are open to get what I need.

I am a survivor and refuse to give up.  I deserve a better qualtiy of life.  I have much to offer this world. and By Goerge I am going to get it.  Come Hell or High water.

I know it sounds like a rant. but I am smiling as I write this.
opinions and comments are welcome

Lori -

Many of us have walked in your shoes.  The difference is that now, you're not walking alone, we're supporting you.

Try to remain positive and believe that the right people will see the right thing to do.

If you should be denied surgery, THEN you can fight with every fiber of your being.  And we will be with you.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Hugs,

Tia

Congratulations Lori for taking the "bull by it's horns" and being proactive about your health.
You are definitely not alone.. so glad you found this group so that you can share your feelings with people that are walking or have walked through the same path.

Wishing you all the best!

Lori:

I smiled as I read your post.  Congratulations!  You are absolutely doing the right thing!!!  I too have been where you are now.  My mother at 45 had a disabling stroke, my Aunt died from complications of Diabetes, I have another Aunt who is going blind because of it, my father had a heart attach because of heart disease and I could see all too clearly that I was headed in the same direction.  With all my  issues in life, I did not want my life to end before I saw my grandchildren grow up and have accomplishments in their lives.  I even wrote them all letters "just in case" I passed before I got healthy, so they would know what they meant to me.  Luckily I am no longer afraid or worried that I am headed down that road.  My health is dramatically improved and I feel like I can live to achieve an old age.  You will too!!  Have faith in yourself and keep fighting ~ you ARE worth it!
