Another weekend to look forward to
Yes...it will be at the beach, of course. I am going from Thurs night until Monday and I am going with 2 friends from high school. One I have not seen in about 33 years but connected with on Facebook. The other was my bf in high school. We have connected some over the years but I am so excited to spend time with them both. I am picking her up at the airport on Thurs evening at 8:10 pm and we will head straight to the beach.
I went with my son, his girlfriend and the 2 grands this weekend but those girls are getting way too high maintainance for me. This will be a more funfilled and relaxing mini vacay.

Pre-op, I used to need Sunday to recover from Saturday with them.
As far as saying, "No!" somehow, it's gotten easier. Of course, they know to expect the basics - food, clothes, etc., but my two are appreciative of material things I buy for them and they even thank me for taking them to the park! Likewise, they understand when I say, "Guys, I just don't have the $ this week."
I know it seems like I lucked out, but I honestly think as your girls get older, they'll get it more. I did find that since our two are from a "broken home," I was more inclined to want to make it up to them - if that makes sense. That required more discipline on my part than theirs!
They will SO appreciate everything you've done for them - eventually!
