My apology for the diatribe and rant. On the bull**** part. Its the BULL**** thats makes these boards enjoyable. I dont take much of what is said on these boards seriously and would trust other dont. The medical and science advice is all over the place. Many of the nurses try to set it straight and kudos for them. These boards are mildly informative and very entertaining.

this thread was just not either the time or the place.
I'm not african american, but i understand the difference in your hair texture. My hair likes to border on a similar texture. I have to use a lot of conditioner (leave in, rinse out, etc.) and it's naturally wavy. I have not had my hair break. I haven't had it fall out in clumps either. I find tons of pieces of hair everywhere! Nobody notices my hair thinning but me. I can see my scalp in the top where I never could before.
(I don't know if it helps any...) But, I completely understand your different hair texture.

I never shampoo my curly hair. Well not with shampoo. Only with conditioner. It breaks otherwise, and frizzes.
I read in a magazine the other day a better way for taking care of curly hair. They said to shampoo and condition the hair. Then put leave in conditioner in it and never bru**** To work a wide tooth comb through it. Then use some gel to keep the frizz down. My hair has been doing so much better with these suggestions. :)
(By the end of the day, my hair never looks curly anymore because i have a bad habit of running my fingers through it a lot!)
