MONDAY'S FEED BAG

My revised tool inspired you?  Is that POUCH ENVY? LOL  You know, when it comes down to it, those whoopie pies aren't all that great tasting in the scheme of things.  They aren't delectable, no chocolate is involved, and the only tasty part is truly the filling which is all sugar and fat and you know it's not even worth it.  Nothing but full of regrets after it's gone.  If you want the pumpkin just make something wls friendly with canned pumpkin and spices!  As for the pouchie, solid protein is going to make you feel full faster (aka tighter) and for longer, you know that.  Stick to the protein and water; avoid that carb monster.  Greek yogurt is great, I know you love it, but honestly, it is really a slider food and considered a full liquid.  It won't keep you full long despite it's perfect protein content.  Switch over to low fat cottage cheese or boiled eggs for the morning.

I think it's NEW pouch envy!!!  And as far as being full - I'm never hungry, so for me, it's more about the protein content than its sliding through me.

Real hunger has NEVER been an issue for me.  Now, head hunger, that's a whole different thing!

I am going to try the baked ricotta recipe with pumpkin and pumpkin pie spices in the fall.

And....lastly, I don't know where YOU get yours, but the ones at the Amish Market are NUM-YUMMY!!!  But, as I've proven, I can make equally num-yummy stuff that's better for me!!!

Well now that's probably because YOU have a sweet tooth and I don't, which is why I can take or leave the whoopie pies (and the ONLY place I've ever gotten them is the Amish market or directly from an Amish family's roadside stand).  Head hunger is a major beyotch and honestly, I think that the removal of the ghrelin hormone during the VSG really does take care of head hunger!  So far I honestly could care less about eating LOL.

I THINK I've heard that that hormone can come back?  Have you heard that?  And I can't recall where I heard it - for some reason, I want to say my PCP.

You have the salty/carby tooth - or HAD, and yes, I most definitely have the sweet/carby tooth!  I did find myself not even caring what was in the house, though.  MAJOR accomplishment for me!

I've heard it, but I don't know it's really that or patients contributing it to that because they've let their eating habits slide LOL.  If the part of the stomach that secretes it is removed, how can it come back?  Dr. Schweitzer never said anything about it.  I'llhave to ask when I go for my 3 month f/u.

Hmmmm.........we could write a cookbook, "Post-Op Slop!"  LOL!!!

Thanks for the idea!!

Where'd you get the protein muffins?  TJ's?  I know Deb had said she got banana chocolate chip protein muffins from there - still treading in dangerous territory for me!

I actually modified an Eggface recipe.  They turned out a little dry so I'll be modifying again once these are gone.  I LOVE muffins and I want to try to do a coconut version like we had a Harpoon Hanna's!!  Checked their website for a recipe but that's not happening!
