Don't stress. You will be fine and you might make some mistakes but repeat this to  yourself. You are only human, not superhuman. Cut  yourself some slack, forgive yourself and move on.

You know on a side note about the volume of food being eaten let me say this...I know when we go to the boardwalk we eat a lot, well maybe not a lot but we eat different types of things. We very rarely go and I mean rarely, maybe once a year if lucky for 1 day or most likely every other year so when we do go we like to get things we havent had in a while. Not defending the food eaters but just another perspective.

Thanks, Mellie!!!!  You know, given all that you've been through recently, the fact that you still come here to support us speaks volumes of the type of person you are!!!!  YOU ROCK!!!

You're right, it's not necessarily the volume, it's the variety for me.  I ENJOY some of those types of foods - although I enjoy seafood more, and it's good for us, so I'm really going to try to focus on the enjoyment of the things rather than the stressors.  I've just been battling with this for a while now, and it's finally come to a head, like a big old zit!!!!

And don't worry about offending ANYONE.  Those who matter don't mind, and those who mind don't matter!

I think if your pouchy-poo is full with dense protein before you go to the boardwalk those demons will not be as haunting and you will be able to make better choices.....................

From somone sitting here at my desk who just had to talk herself out of eating the other half of a 240 calorie whole wheat bagel with chicken salad......

Well, I think if I fill it up ENOUGH, I won't have ROOM for the other stuff!!!  I TRY to subscribe to the 3-bite rule, but sometimes, it bites back!!!

And sadly, here's how *I* would justify it - at least the bagel is whole wheat, and the chicken salad (NUM-YUMMY) has protein!!  See?  Easy.  Sad.

I did the same thing yesterday.  When I was putting my lunch together, I put the ham salad in the bag and automatically thought, "I'll take the Wheat Thins!"  GRR!!!  But I didn't, and actually, had I had time, I would've cut a cucumber into substantial slices and eaten the ham salad on them for crunch.  But you know what?  I probably STILL would've wanted the Wheat Thins, because cukes AREN'T Wheat Thins!!!!

Thanks for knowing what I struggle with EVERY day!

Well you are on vacation... 

Maybe try spreading your "treats" out, something different everyday.  I'm sure you will exercise a lot of it off just walking around down there.  Sample what you want just keep tabs on the quantity.
