3 THINGS FOR FRIDAY!
1. Friends - I got to spend some time with Heather, Kylie & Lacie last night! I haven't seen them in a while! Heather looks AMAZING - she's lost like 25 pounds in 3 weeks!!! She's rocking the new sleeve! As always, the girls are simply beautiful - Kylie is going to be a dangerously beautiful girl and Lacie's just as cute as can be in all her sweet baldness!!
2. Motivation - I got a surprise phone call yesterday from a friend/old flame from across the country last night. This guy is 55 years old, has the body of a 25 year old, 18 pack abs, and the personality of a prince! He told me last night how proud he is of what I've accomplished, and although it's always nice to hear, from a 55 year old who competes in Ironman Triatholons, it's especially motivating! I remember an analogy he passed on from his mother a long time ago, "If someone handed you the keys to a car and said that this was the only car you'd EVER have, you'd take care of it, right? Well, you need to do the same for your body - treat it well, because it's the only one you'll ever have!" It also doesn't hurt that he thought I was beautiful inside AND out, even at my highest weight, and said, "I bet you're even more stunning now!" I wanted to kiss him!!!!
3. You usually DON'T hear my toot my horn on a consistent basis, but I am WORKING this no-carbs, eating good routine - and my scale has shown a movement of -5 pounds since Monday!!! Can I get an AMEN???? I'll tell you that I HAVE been mightily tempted this week by certain things/stressors, and I'm kind of viewing the weekend with a hairy eyeball, because weekends are TOUGH for me, but, and I should whisper this, "It's gotten easier to avoid carbs this week!" I know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow!!
Have a great day and weekend! We have a end of softball season party tomorrow and I'm having Greek food with friends (old and yet to meet) on Sunday, and getting ready for the beach this weekend, but you know where to find me!! Thanks for all the emails, texts, calls, and PMs of the last view days!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE you guys!!!
Tia
1. Today I'm grateful that IT'S FRIDAY!! (DUH!)
2. That it's supposed to be a slightly warmer weekend. I gotta get my pool time in.
3. Family. I got a call from my 13 year old niece last night in panic mode. Her parents are divorced and don't get along so when she truly needs something, she calls MEMEMEME. I love knowing that I can provide stability to a kid that might not otherwise have family she can count on. She and her younger sister are my heart.
4. Doggie lovings. What used to be my young, WILD golden retriever has matured into such a beautiful, loving, goofy dog. He'll be 4 in November and loves nothing more than to lay in bed and snuggle with me each and every morning. It's our ritual and brings a smile to my face and warmth to my heart each time I think about him. My other dog is pretty awesome too, but the young one is my 'heart' doggie.
Have a great day all!
Actually, almost NO-CARBING it!!! Whew!!! First couple days, I was afraid I was gonna eat nails!!!
I've MISSED you. There, I said it. I need to come up so we can go to Frisco - gee, maybe I can get Caryn (Mrs. Rogers) to meet us!
You have the same relationship with your sibling's children as I. It's a WONDERFUL feeling and a testament to the person you are. We prove that just because we haven't given birth doesn't mean we're not mothers.
Awww, doggie lovings!! Nothing better!!!
Hugs,
T
I felt like I needed to get out of the house this week. So I went to visit a friend in West Virginia and stayed over night. She lives on a ridge over Berkley Springs. It was great to see her and it was a very relaxing time. I also got my pet fix. She has 3 big dogs and 2 cats! We did some walking and visited a nearby state park. We saw a lot of deer as we worked our way up to a scenic overlook. The scenery reminded by a lot of visiting my Mom's home in Eastern Kentucky, just not as mountainous.
Today I am grateful for ...
1 - Friends - Even if you don't get to see them very often, it feels like you have never been apart when you do get to see them.
2 - I received a call while I was away from another friend who may have another job opportunity at the same company I have been talking to. We are currently playing phone tag. But it is nice to possibly having options after nothing for so long.
3 - The weather - It continues to be glorious. I am glad that I have not had to run the air conditioning. (I also know that this would not have been as easy if I was still my heavier self.)
Have a super day everyone!

Morning Deb!!! All congrats lovingly accepted. I've worked my butt off this week!!! You and I have discussed at length how hard this is, so I know you mean it!
I was wondering where you were, and just emailed you. I'm glad you got away - I know it was good for the soul.
I haven't uncrossed my fingers on the job scene yet!!!!
Have a great weekend!!! BTW, on August 1, Lisa's having a Pampered Chef party. I'll be taking an entourage, so if you'd like to go, you are more than welcome to ride down with me.
Have a great weekend!

What makes this funnier is that they are not blood related to me - they are my SIL's kids... but they love having me and their Uncle Bill around - we've always been the stable, reliable ones in their life, especially after Grammy passed away. I would do anything for them and really wish I could think of a way to get custody
My sibs do have some kids too, but they are all out of state and I don't get to see them much. Do keep in touch on FB tho. They are all older too and raised in stable homes so I don't worry as much.
Frisco's sounds great!
For today:
1. OMG TGIF; this week's been taxing my patience at work and I am so glad it's over. Specially since the most taxing people aren't at work.
2. Last bit of paperwork for the house my parents are buying here is done. Handed over earnest money and signed papers to our realtor yesterday.
3. Date night with the hubsters tonight. No, TIA, you may not join us maybe if you behave?
Morning Sylvie!!! Um.....give them back? Nobody told me THAT!!! Actually, not for a million dollars would I ever give my babies up!!!
I'm glad your parents are settling in and are close - but not too!!!
Nah, don't wanna horn in your time with hubby. I'll find my own good guy when the time's right!! But thanks for thinking of me!!!! LOL!!!
Have fun!!!
