I've been lurking for a while, thinking about having surgery - I have appointments with two surgens over the next month or so.

i'm a SAHM of twin 5 year olds, and someone on another board i belong to for moms of multiples told me about OH but i found your board on my own.  sorry for my typing - hard to juggle a 5 year old and coffee and i can't have one without the other.

i look forward to getting to know you all and could sure use ther support.

can you tell abot your experience and your doctor?

thanks & have a blessed day!

HI kelly

thanks! my life is pretty crazy, so i completely understand.  its rare that i have computer time, mainly in the am.

i live in chase but since i need to get out by myself sometmes, crofton might actually be doable.

thanks for the welcome!

Hi Pennie,

Welcome to the MD board!  My Doctor is Dr. Roe in Towson.   As far as my RNY, he only does Open and not Laproscopic.  I had my surgery in October and am doing extremely well.  I have 6 more lbs to reach my own self imposed goal.  I'm down 24 lbs from Dr. Roe's goal.

I think it's great that you have appointments with more than one doctor.  Choose one whom you feel most comfortable with. Regardless of how great someone tells you their Doctor is, you have to feel comfortable and confident about whomever you choose to do your surgery.

Good luck to you and looking forward to following your journey.

HI Pennie,

welcome to the MD board.  it's a busy board and i'm sure you can have fun here.

I'm using Dr. David Von Rueden out of St. Agnes.   We go in less than an hour for hopefully what is our last pre-op visit.

I say WE because my husband and I are in this journey together.

One five year old is a handful.  two has to be exhausting

I'm in Owings Mills BTW.

this is a very friendly group.  we get together often

no no no we are NOT having surgery on the same day.

Bri is going first probably around mid-august and I will be around 4-6 weeks later.   My date is not set yet.  our information is just getting ready to be submitted!

it's a great group.  my  hubby and I had lunch with Sylvie and Angie today!

Pennie, welcome to the board!

I had Dr. Roe do my surgery. He was the second surgeon I saw. The first one soured me so much I didn't go to the second one till months later. but, I felt comfortable and at ease with Dr. Roe and his staff at once. That's very important. He's now done numerous surgeries on me, the RNY, gall bladder removal and hernia. He also took care of me after an accident opened up the hernia incision.

come back often and ask any questions you might have. There are a variety of experiences on this board and somebody's bound to have some sort of answer for you :)
