Just thinking.................
What can you do to make this world better?
I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

A good example is when we shop and Aldi's. I always keep quarters in the car and when we are done with the cart we give it to someone else. Everyone always tries to give me the quarter they are going to use and I tell them 'no just pay it forward" I am usually rewarded with a big smile. It makes my day!
Wow!! Almost too profound for me this a.m., girlie!!!
You know, people have often commented on how confident I appear, and some of it IS just an act! I'm by no means perfect and my feelings get hurt just like anyone else's - I just hate when I unintentionally or stupidly, hurt someone and always believe in admitting that I'm wrong. I've recently taken the bull by the horns in a situation where I unjustifiably hurt someone who didn't deserve it. I've offered my apology and extended my hand in friendship - and so far, it seems to have been accepted.
Sometimes, I think the best thing you can do to make the world a better place is to observe the Golden Rule and treat others how YOU'd like to be treated. And I'm trying very hard to subscribe to my own Mom's words of wisdom, "If you can't say anything nice about someone, don't say anything at all."
Sometimes, discretion is the better part of valor and taking the higher road is a lot calmer!!
Thanks! I've missed your Daily Affirmations!! AND YOU!!
MUAH!
You did the right thing and I am sure that everything will be alright.
I have really missed being here.

I agree with you as it is sometimes easier to only think about yourself or to "not look at the homeless person on the corner" or to be withdrawn and blanketed by the comfort of our own lives. It takes a strong person to step outside of their own boundaries and offer something to someone that you don't know. I try to do this as often as I can. Sometimes people look at me like "who the heck is she." When I have an extra coupon or discount for something that I can't use and I notice someone buying the same thing, I offer it to them. I was in NYC one time and had an extra ticket for the sightseeing bus and offered it up to a family that was just arriving. Recently my grandson had me buy a piece of cake for him at the local carry out. We got to the car and he realized that it had cream in it (It was boston creme pie). He never opened the container, so I stepped outside my car, cake in hand and handed it to a little girl waiting with her father for their order. They probably though I was crazy, but I think that we shouldn't take more than we need in life and we need to use everything that we have.
Cira: glad to have you back

That is so true. In court with the Grandchildren, their mother told the judge that when the kids came back to her after being at my house that they acted "spoiled" because I give them everything that they want. And that they needed "her love and not my money." First, no one ever told me that I "had money." I scrape and save for everything that we have and secondly, the kids saw me doing the fundraising for the AVON Breast Cancer walk and participated in fundraising at Walmart and we volunteer for events in town. I believe it is all about what you can give and not, what you can get if you give. Things like giving someone something unexpectedly make me feel so great, it is well worth giving up something that I have and especially when it doesn't cost anymore to print 2 or 3 coupons on-line than it does one.
