SNOWBALLS!
Yes, sadly, another food post. But in reminiscing about the summer, it got me thinking about buying snowballs in Highlandtown's rapidly dwindling confectioneries. For those not familiar, snowballs are somewhat of a Baltimore thing - although some people know them as snow cones, ice cones, etc. Basically, crushed or shaved ice and sickeningly sweet syrup in a cup! YUM!!!
I don't remember how much they cost then, but what a treat it was to run down the street with my cousins, get my snowball and perhaps some penny candy and just hold that snowball, ooooozing with marshmallow, in my hands!! And then, to eat it with a flat wooden "spoon." If you got more than one snowball, you got a neat little cardboard carrier, too!
Ahhhh, bliss in a cup!!! Thank goodness that the snowball stands now have sugar free flavors! Like the awesomely yummy Crystal Light Slurpees, they are just SO refreshing! They have the added bonus of adding liquids to your diet, too!
So......snowballs or no? Your fave flavor as a child? Mine was chocolate (duh), followed by sky blue, cherry, egg custard and spearmint!!

Can we hook up sometime next week? I need to wait to see what my schedule looks like; and we can go from there. I should know what my schedule at JCP will be hopefully by Friday.
The gyros I've been getting have been from Hellas and from the Leighs Deli down the street, and I just really want to try a real one. Not these ste *** kind of gyros.
