When you go to your last pre-op with Dr. Vanguri and/or his staff, I'm SURE you'll be given guidelines to follow for life in the first 6 weeks post-op. If memory serves me, Dr. Vanguri's patients come home on mushies - many don't. Trust me, the guidelines will be easy to follow if they're in black and white.
By all means, if you've got questions, call his office. You've been around here long enough now to know that each surgeon is different and what works for one is considered taboo by another!
FYI - Some people DO dump on milk sugars post-op, but not all. I don't, but I don't drink a lot of milk, either.
Tia
Tia's right. Those GNC people know as much about nutrition as nuclear fusion. I went into the one in Harford Mall last month to get my Chocolate Tri-Flex. The shelf was empty of chocolate, but they had Peanut Butter flavor. The clerk told me there was a recall on the Chocolate a few months ago but he didn't know why (to which I thought, Great...I've been chewing them for two years. Are my joints going to mutate or something?) So, I didn't buy anything. I went on their website when I got home to search for recalls. The ONLY Tri-Flex recall was way back when they had the first peanut butter scare. They briefly pulled them from the shelves just in case. I bought 4 containers of chocolate flavor on line.
That Bonehead didn't have a clue, but chose to give a customer any kind of information he thought sounded good. I'd rather hear, "we're out of them," or "I don't know why we don't have them on the shelf," instead of twisted misinformation.
I do suggest you take vitamins daily from now on and raise your protein intake so your body has a good reserve for when you have your surgery.
Wishing you all the best.
I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.
Those that mind don't matter, and those that matter don't mind.
